Finally - a great, sturdy, glass blender!

Really happy with this blender. What was most important to me was a glass canister, and these are becoming increasingly hard to find. The lid does have plastic, obviously, but it's limited. This blender is incredibly sturdy and stable, and the knob function is simple and easy to use. I also like the cord tucking feature in the back. It's worth noting that this canister, and even more so the base, is quite heavy. I could see that being a deterrent for some. But, it's what makes it so sturdy. What would make this ideal for me is a smooth interior. There are 4 ridges, which I don't hate, but I don't love either.

    Yes for smoothies and more.

So far, this seems like a great purchase. The control is easy to use, and it gives the motor breaks in between cycles. It runs on its own without me needing to be there to hold onto it. It could benefit from a suggested user guide with recipes. We did need to use a special tool to get the base separated from the glass top initially, as it really tightens down. Easy cleaning.

    Horrible Blender!!!!

Piece of JUNK!!!! I was given this as a replacement for a blender that was less than 2 years and had warranty still left. The blender I had was discontinued, no longer available for replacement. Cuisinart replaced with this bender, ~2 months ago!! I've already had issues with it not starting. I use it for a daily smoothie. Hoping this issue isn't a sign it's going to quit on me soon!! Other issues: glass jar is very heavy. Doesn't blend well. Yogurt is still on sides of my blender after the "smoothie" control has finished!!! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE BLENDER!! I will never buy this brand again!!EVER!!

    Lovin' My Smoothies

I use this blender for smoothies with a base of frozen fruit and it does a great job of making sure all ingredients are pureed to perfection. This is a very powerful appliance with blades located in the base of the glass pitcher (not on a rod running up through the middle) which seems to work great when making just for one. The "smoothie" setting is pre programmed for just the right amount of pulsing. I like the glass jar and so far it has worked beautifully for me. Some may consider this blender heavy but I find that indicates power and stability.

Far & Away BEST OF GLASS! No Comparison.

"Do you Cuisinart reviewer take this Amazing Cuisinart appliance to be your lawfully wedded Blender?” Oh, you bet I DO! "Do you promise to love and cherish this blender, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all other blenders, keep yourself only unto it for so long as you both shall live?" That is an unequivocal YES! Folks, we’re almost a year in and the honeymoon continues. In fact, we now own two of these—‘two’ have and ‘two’ hold. This blender is in a ‘GLASS’ of its own. To have one is to love it. Plastic blenders, if you own(ed) one or more are cheap (but not inexpensive), prone to failure with serious use, and can be toxic. We can finally make our own smoothies the way we’ve always dreamt and they are thick and rich like no other. Start by adding 2/3 cup of unsweetened apple juice. We store frozen fruit and use two cups bananas, 3 or 4 strawberry’s, 16 blueberries, 2 peaches and 2 mangos and put these all in a large bowl on the counter. Add all at once (while still somewhat frozen) into blender over apple juice, and then pour 1/2 cup of almond milk over all. Turn blender to smoothie, hit the button and hold our ears. Voilà! Prepare to swoon & spoon! Bottom line: A smoothie worthy of your vows❣️ And now back to our regularly scheduled honeymoon.

    Bad Design

I bought my original Hurricane blender from Cuisinart. It lasted ~1.5 years! Yes, only 1.5 years!! I started seeing black oil on my counter. Didn't know where it was coming from. One day after washing blender, using the blender to wash, all the H20 was BLACK!!!!! Cuisinart didn't have the exact blender to replace so they sent this blender as a replacement. Don't like it at all! Glass is too heavy, blender jar sits in a well where the blades are and you can't scrape out all the food, for me my smoothie. It's stuck, sitting around the blades. A waste of my smoothie. Also, the glass jar has too many ridges which make scraping down the side so jar very hard to get all the food out. BAD DESIGN. Finally, Cuisinart has HORRIBLE customer service. Too many bad phone calls with problems they caused me. Won't go into details but I would NEVER purchase from Cuisinart again!!!! EVER!

    Don’t buy it

I bought this blender to minimize my microplastic consumption but the base of the pitcher on the inside is actually plastic. My last glass blender was fully glass on the inside. It defeats the purpose of buying a glass blender when it’s actually per plastic! I feel mislead. Also, there glass had a manufacturing defect in a few places. And the plastic base is very cheaply made plastic. This is not worth the price at all! And there are no returns on it apparently.

    Bad Design

Whoever designed this blender doesn't make smoothies. 1) 40 seconds, the smoothie choice on blender, doesn't completely blend all the ingredients in 40 seconds. 2)the glass jar: why make so many ridges. We, smoothie lovers, like to take a spatula and scrape every last bit of smoothie. The ridges make that difficult. 3)The blade is so hard/impossible to remove. It traps a lOT of the smoothie whereby you have to use a spatula to dig out the smoothie in order to get all leftover out. BAD DESIGN. 4)Glass is nice, but very heavy 5)No on & off switch? What's with that? No brainer, include one. 6)I would not recommend this blender. This is a warranty replacement for my Cuisinart blender I had for one year. That blender was discontinued and this is the replacement. The previous blender did a much better job.
