Amazing Machine

Honestly, I don't know how I lived without this for so long. I'm new to being a vegan and this has been incredibly helpful. Everything I have tried, from sauces to smoothies has turned out silky smooth. It blends things quickly, is super easy to clean and is not as loud as I had expected. I'm very happy with my purchase!!

My Vitamix Explorian 10-Speed Blender is less than three years old, but the blades are already stalling and stopping while blending. This is very disappointing, especially for such an expensive blender. It's not worth the high cost if it doesn't even last three years.

Still experimenting with it

So far so good. I've used it mostly for blending smoothies. I do need to use the little plunger thing to help push things around as the blades get stuck with the frozen fruit. But it seems powerful enough and does get everything blended up nicely. I've also made humus with it, again, bogged down a little bit but end product was smooth and wonderful.

Darth Vader is in the house

My little white 20+ year old Proctor Silex blender having bit the dust, I went looking for a US-made one small enough for home use. The Vitamix E310 fit the bill! It's so much bigger than my old blender that the little, round, low one became R2D2 in my mind, and the E310 - big, black, square, and imposing, became Darth Vader. It works just fine, though. I had to put a piece of masking tape at the 20 oz line, because the measurement markers are invisible if not in direct light with a dark background inside the container. Not having to remove the blade from the container for cleaning is very convenient, for I can give it a quick rinse without losing that bit of tape. I'm still learning how long to puree things that can be gritty when I stop too soon: the smoothie recipes that came with the E310 are not a good guide for hot soups.

It's nice but...

It blends very well. Definitely another than any other blender I've owned, but it's louder than I expected. Like ear bleeding loud on the higher settings. Also, I wish it was completely dishwasher safe. It's recommended to hand wash.
