    Leaky, thoughtless design.

This was supposed to be a Really Nice Christmas gift. My wife and I finally wore out a 1970's food processor my parents got for THEIR wedding and had gifted to me twenty years ago. We replaced it with a cheap ($55) food processor, which was a mistake... it leaked everywhere and didn't do a great job... but it was literally the cheapest option. So, I bought us this one, for the cost of 9 inexpensive processors. Guess what works slightly better than the $55 model, but worse than the 1975 Cuisinart with a half dozen cracks in all its parts. Every aspect of this thing is garbage, except perhaps the motor. It's designed cheaply, shortcuts were made that make parts hard to clean. Parts are NEEDLESSLY hard to clean. None of the blades in all the bins.... none of the blades work in the mid-size bin, that one's (unadvertised) only for the chopper. The small bin is so messy and wonky it simply should not exist. This whole thing is terrible.

    Just Okay

After dealing with replacing expensive Cuisinart work bowls every few years my husband researched the Magimix, pointing out that’s made in France and probably more sturdy than the Cuisinarts which are now manufactured in China. It’s a very attractive machine and it works fairly well but it fails in a few major areas. I have the 12 cup 3200 XL and my biggest complaint is that it’s not powerful enough and the bowls are complicated and messy to use. First of all, there are three bowls but to use the medium and small bowls they have to be nested inside the larger/largest one. There is invariably some spill over and so they all have to be cleaned which is a waste of time and energy since they go into the dishwasher. Secondly, my biggest complaint is that the motor on the 3200XL isn’t powerful enough to grate softer kinds of cheese without jamming and/or leaving large pieces ungrated and yes I’ve chilled the cheese in the freezer but even using part skim mozzarella is a problem in this food processor. Vegetables are by and large a breeze to grate and slice but I make a lot of pizza and it’s disappointing. As for dough, it’s a joke. I’m a serious baker and mostly make hand kneaded doughs or doughs in my Kitchenaid but for a small batch this machine should be able to handle a loaf of white bread and it can’t. Even my old 7 cup Cuisinart that I had 25 years ago could whiz through making a loaf of dough quickly and efficiently. I’m mostly cooking for my husband and me and for smaller dinner parties of 4-8 people and my 11 cup Cuisinart never failed these tasks. On the positive side, this makes the best humus I’ve ever had and it makes lovely creamed vegetable soups. Would I buy it again knowing it has these issues? Probably not.

    Best ever

Best food processor I have ever owned. I had a Cusinart that just could not handle the heavier, denser ingredients. It got so bad the blade kept pop[ing off while I was using it. Magimix handled the same with ease. Came out great.

I could not be more disappointed in this

I bought this last January as my Kitchen Aid food processor from 2001 was about to go belly up, the motor was fine, but the plastic gets brittle and cannot be replaced. This seemed like the perfect alternative. It sat in the box in a closet until last December 2022. From the start, hate it. If you want to use the small bowl, you have to use all 3 bowls simultaneously, and although it says the other bowls won't be soiled, it is absolutely not the case. From making bread crumbs to minced onions in the small top bowl, all the other bowls get soiled. But worst of all, no matter which bowl I use, or which setting I use (pulse/automatic) or which blade I use or what temperature the food is, the blade rises off the spindle. Every. Single. Time. And then you have to empty the bowl, replace the blade, only for it to happen again! It's terrible. And when it's on automatic, and the blade rises up the spindle, shavings from the plastic of the spindle are created and end up in the food. I reached out to Magimix, but they've never responded. And given the product sat in a closet for 11 months, I doubt Williams Sonoma would help. So, do not buy this product. The design flaws are not worth the aggravation.

    Poor quality and service

The handle on the large bowl has a hairline crack. This prevents the unit from operating properly or safely. When contacted the manufacturer is out of replacement parts with no idea when they wii be available. I would avoid this product and brand.

Well made and is easy to us

This device is well-engineered. The instructions are easy to understand. Yes, it is heavy but, as a result, when you turn it on it doesn't move over the countertop. In my experience the footprint of this machine is not marginally larger than some of the more light weight food processors.

Very Happy to Finally Own a RoboCoupe

Having worked as a chef in the restaurant industry for years, I was excited to find the consumer version of the RoboCoupe available in this country. I purchased it 2 years ago and have waited to review. I am very happy I spent the money on this machine. The simple operation outshines any other food processor, which I find superfluous with all the buttons and speeds. This is a straightforward, hard-working machine. I used it constantly. Next to my Kitchen-Aid Mixer, it is the most important machine in my kitchen.

    Best bang for your buck

I went down the rabbit hole for about six weeks trying to figure out A. If I could find replacement work bowls and lids for our 20 year old but magnificent Kitchenaid food processor (the plastic parts just wore out, but not the blades or 600 watt motor)- answer no; then B. What to get to replace it. It’s a tool I use almost everyday. The Kitchenaid was the best model for years when it came out (old model made in France; but the new ones are made in China). I read countless professional and anecdotal reviews, price compared, features and weight compared, watched videos, looked for recall announcements, etc. and fell in lust with industrial models (Big horsepower, all metal, but price point difference between lowest prosumer and highest consumer is about 1k!) Finally I settled on the consumer level Magimix 4200xl, by the French company that created the food processor (and makes many of the top prosumer models), Robot Coupe. This plain but powerful tool has been around for a while, comes in 3200 (12 cup), 4200 (14 cup), and 5200 (16 cup) levels and the 14 cup is consistently the most reliable. Free shipping (it weighs 28lbs) sealed it for me. The Magimix has 950 watts (1.2 horsepower). Big motors can be a problem in some company models like the Breville (Too much power for the consumer plastic parts in the current design of the 16 cup). I’m irrationally excited about it. The motor comes with a 30 year warranty! (That’s some bragging for a company) Simple, powerful, well designed, useful. Another 20 years and I’ll be fine.

    Very Happy with this Purchase

I purchased the Magimix two months ago to replace my 22-year-old KitchenAid food processor. I could not be happier with this appliance. So far, I have used the blades and the shredding disks. It has incredible power and my favorite is that it can finely chop loose fresh herbs--one of the more tedious tasks that I detest. I look forward to using this food processor for all types of cooking projects.

    Well-made, and French

I love that this is made for the home by the same company that makes the restaurant Robot-Coupe food processor. I had a Cusinart from the late 90's but only used the chopping blade because I had problems getting the other attachments off of the stem. Getting them on, easy; off, not so much. I gave it away and got the Magimix. Love it. Very powerful. Heavy. Doesn't "walk" all over the countertop when kneading bread. My only wish is that Williams-Sonoma would offer the colors that are available in Europe. Haven't we done enough of the stainless-steel look here? I'm not sure why people complain about not finding additional attachments. I've purchased additional attachments since I had mine. All you have to do is go to the Magimix USA website, go to the bottom of the page where it says Service and Spare Parts and click. It will tell you which website to visit or email. Google more; complain less. One word of caution. Be sure to wipe off the black rubber feet of the appliance so that marks are not left on your countertop or butcher block cart. Outside of this, it is my only concern.
