Use & Care
Use
- Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
- Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass.
- It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone, as other blades can be easily damaged.
Care
- Hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse and dry immediately.
- Maintain knife's cutting edge by regularly using honing steel.
- Sharpen as needed. With regular use and honing, your knife should not need sharpening more than once or twice a year.
- Sharpen knife at home using whetstone or knife sharpener, or have it sharpened by a professional.
- Store knife in safe place to protect edge and prevent injury.

Great knife
Exceptional quality as always. Well balanced, very sharp - an excellent knife and I highly recommend Wusthof knives to anyone wanting a great chef (or other) knife. A Must Have
My current knife is a 34yrs old Wusthof classic but difficult to keep sharp. I thought I am due for a backup. I love the navy blue handle as well.

This is the 4th Wusthof
This is the 4th Wusthof I've purchased to round out my collection. This one definitely has some heft to it, but I wouldn't consider it heavy. More like "substantial" and it feels very balanced in the hand. Like most, I'd gone through the supermarket and big-box store knives only to ultimately be disappointed with their inability to keep a suitable edge. A few seconds on the steel before using has kept all my previous ones nicely sharp, and I don't expect anything less from this one. I prefer the Classic series, and I imagine I'll be passing these on to someone in the family that enjoys cooking (and working with quality tools) as much as I do.

Classic 6” chef and paring knife
I am pleased with my purchase and plan to buy other WÜSTHOF knives in the future. The 6” chef knife fits my hand better than the typical 8”.
