What a workhorse!
I have been using my Williams-Sonoma multipot for almost thirty years now and it is still going strong. So this was an easy gift choice for a dear niece that is settling into her first home. I have no doubt she and her soon to be husband will find it equally versatile and a staple in their kitchen.

Great multi-purpose pot
Great pot for soups and stews. Easy to clean. Big enough to make large batches.

Magic!
This multiport truly solves the issue of boiling water with a pasta insert - in fact, the ridged bottom boils faster even with the insert. The pot alone works well to cook soups, as well. I love it as much as my All-Clad D5 cookware and have had none of the staining issues mentioned by another reviewer. I’ve had it for about 5 months and use it multiple times a week. I use different types of cookware depending on my meal, so I’ll turn to my Staub or Le Creuset Dutch ovens for stews, braises, etc. rather than this covered pot. But it’s outstanding for its intended uses.

Loved this pot but disappointed now
I LOVED this pot. We use it every now then when cooking for a larger group. Usually it is just my son and I so the pot doesn't get used that frequently. Lately I noticed that there was water on the stove top while using the pot. Tonight the water came flowing out from the seal at the bottom of the pot. It made a mess of the stove top and the starchy water burnt to the stove top. Very disappointed in the quality of this pot.

Wow! Best Pasta pot ever.
This pot boils water so fast it will make your head spin. It has this unusual bottom that does an amazing job of directing heat to the pot quickly. It is beautiful and extremely well made. The pasta insert works like a charm. It's not heavy given the size of the pot. You can cook anything from small quantities to large quantities of pasta.

Big Enough
This set is fabulous. Big enough to boil two pounds of pasta at one time and heavy enough to cook soups and stews in the large pot. Have used it often. Well worth the price

good quality but too big for me
I decided to purchase this because I am a small woman and always have a hard time draining pasta and thought this should help. The pot turned out to be way too big for both myself and our small kitchen, but I decided to keep it because insert does help. I need to ask my husband to drain the pot with hot water later, though 'cause I can't possibly lift it, and it takes a huge amount of water to fill the pot and it takes a long time to fill as well. I wish this pot was available in a smaller size for people who don't need to cook so much amount of food at a time but still wish to take advantage of the insert for draining.

Exactly what I needed
I wish I could have afforded really nice cookware when I started cooking; I would have saved a lot of money in the long run! This is an excellent set, from the thickness of the bottom to the riveted and well-balanced handles. I have used it several times already for steaming shrimp and vegetables and am very pleased.

A Good Choice
Used this 2X in the first week alone. Glad it went on sale!!! Free shipping, too. I was going to buy it anyway, having looked at it in the store many times. Heavy weight, but not too heavy for lifting. Love the insert for easy draining-versatile. Got the 8-qt. and it is more than big enough for full packages of pasta. Cleans up easily. Heats fast, even, I use this on my ceramic cooktop-no problems.
