Detail
Summary
In Chinese kitchens, carbon steel woks are essential for high-heat stir-frying as well as simmering, steaming and deep-frying. Our wok is traditional in every way – hand hammered of carbon steel, shaped with a rounded bottom and fitted with a heat-resistant wooden handle. It comes with a ring stand for use on any type of cooktop, including induction.
- Traditional 1.2mm carbon steel construction disperses heat rapidly and evenly.
- Gradually sloping sides ensure food stays directly over heat source and simplify tossing.
- Oak stick handle stays cool to the touch.
- Easy to season to create naturally nonstick surface.
- Rounded-bottom wok can be used on all cooktops, including induction.
- Includes ring stand for use on induction, electric and ceramic cooktops.

Use & Care
Use
- For use on any type of cooktop, including induction.
- Includes ring stand for use on induction, electric and ceramic cooktops.
- Wok will become very hot when cooking. Please use caution.
- Before first use, hand-wash wok with hot water and gently scrub with soft cloth or soft bristle brush; dry thoroughly.
- Season before first use. Coat interior of wok with even layer of seasoning oil. Put wok over medium heat. Some areas dry a bit faster – rub additional oil on these areas. Reduce heat to low and apply another layer of oil to interior. Keep on low heat for approx. 10 minutes – this process should produce a golden patina over interior surface. Remove from heat and wipe interior surface with paper towel to remove any loose black carbon. Repeat process once or twice if needed.
Care
- Hand-wash thoroughly with hot water. Use soft bristle brush or soft cloth to scrub, if necessary. Avoid soap and abrasive scrubbers.
- Dry thoroughly with soft cloth and apply thin coat of seasoning oil before storing to prevent rusting.
- Re-season wok if cooking surface becomes bumpy or patina surface has chipped off.

Solid, sturdy, and reasonable priced
It's a very sturdy wok that takes on a good seasoning. As long as you season it properly, it works great. For the price, is hard to find a better wok out there. The round bottom makes flipping food smooth and easy, and the think, round, steel barrel used to attach the handle is extremely sturdy.

Great Wok. Just as expected, thank you!
Nicely made. I don't know what others are generally complaining about. This is a nice wok. I have two criticisms, neither of which affect the rating. Carbon steel is what I wanted, and this fills the bill at a good price. It does not have a "helper" handle on the opposite side. I knew this going in, and it's not a problem for me. the first time I used it, I went to grab it and went too far down the handle with my hand and gripped the metal instead of the wood handle. Let go quickly enough and was not burned. Suffice it to say I won't do that again. The hardwood handle is nice and the wok is easy enough to handle overall. It really is a nice wok. Seems to be of typical thickness, and I like that it doesn't have a nonstick surface. These are really not needed, and the high heat usage means that the carbon steel surface cleans up very easily.

Great for Asian Cooking, but High Maintenance and
A good size and shape for preparing Asian dishes, but it’s prone to rust and can be hard to maintain.

Great wok for a gas range
At last, a great wok for a gas range! We tried so many others, and shopped long and hard online and in many Asian supply stores. This one is a keeper. Here's why: The round bottom is so much easier to stir fry and requires much less oil than a flat bottom. The round bottom eliminates the dangerous splashing and burning at the edge of a flat bottom. The round bottom collects oil closer to the heat. The round bottom is deeper, holding food more securely. A heavy cast iron ring accessory for our gas range holds this pan perfectly secure even during vigorous tilting and rotating. Smooth bare metal, not faux "non-stick" ribbing. After seasoning this pan well according to the included instruction sheet, it is completely non-stick. Amazing! So gratifying, especially for making stir fried rice. Wooden handle stays cool to hold throughout cooking and will be easy to replace when it wears out some generations from now. Even the metal base of the handle will be easy to replace or repair because it has peened bolts not welds. Opposite the wooden handle there is no small loop: a loop may seem like a good idea but in fact is dangerous because it prevents safe, controlled pouring with one hand.

Disappointed in Quality
I was hoping for a better outcome based on other reviews. I bought this for a gift for my son, but he gave it back to me because it didn’t work for his electric stove. It burnt the bottom and the heat did not distribute. So I tried it on my gas stove and also wasn’t impressed and it further discolored. Not sure it’s returnable at this point, so I’ll try it again at some point.

Product arrived damaged, but not elegible return
There was a dent in the bottom of the wok when it arrived. Now I'm told it is not returnable. I was not told that when I purchased.

Great Product! Highly Recommend!
I received this as a gift in December of 2024. The quality is sturdy, easy to care for and heats evenly. I enjoyed using the wok and the attachment fit my gas Jen Air perfectly. The handle is very strong and does not get hot. I would recommend this product for your Asian cooking needs!

Good old fashioned wok
It's nice to find a traditional carbon steel wok, most are flat bottomed or coated with non-stick stuff. And for once I was glad to see manufactured in China!

Excellent quality
The wok is of the finest quality. After a thorough seasoning process I was very impressed. It was even heating and just heavy enough.
