Use & Care
Use
- To prepare, rinse and soak steamer for approx. 30 minutes prior to use to help distribute steam during cooking.
- Line steamer with parchment paper to prevent flavors from steeping into bamboo.
- Steamer should sit 2"–3" above water in wok.
Care
- Hand-wash in warm water; do not use soap or harsh detergents.
- Allow to dry thoroughly before storing.
- Store basket in well-ventilated area.

Built cheap, way overpriced

I the bottom slats were all loose and splintery. I found a double stacking one at a local Asian market for 1/3rd of the price that was built much better than this one. This is sadly yet another Williams Sonoma branded product that is made as cheap as possible. I remember years ago when anything with the Williams Sonoma brand actually meant a good quality kitchen item, now I am starting to avoid anything with the Williams Sonoma brand name because it likely will end up falling apart after minimal use.

Works but isn’t great quality

I want to like this, it does work so there is that. The surface on the inside is very uneven though and my dumplings were rolling away from the center. Also after only two uses one of the pieces of bamboo has come detached and makes it difficult to put the lid on.

Very small!

It’s my fault for not checking the measurements but this steamer is very small. I never knew they make steamers so small. Unfortunately, I bought it on sale and it isn’t returnable. Not very much use for this- waste of money!
