Use & Care
Care
- Periodic cleaning and proper maintenance will ensure efficiency, top performance and long life. The maintenance intervals listed are based on normal conditions. The presence of pets or other special conditions may require you to shorten the intervals.
- Periodically vacuum dust and dirt from the condenser, located behind the grille at the bottom front of the unit.
- Regularly inspect plumbing connections to ensure no leaks are present.
- Disconnect water supply hose if ice maker will not be in use for a long period of time.
- For sanitary production of ice, do not store wine or beer bottles in ice storage bin.
- Exterior cleaning: The door and cabinet may be cleaned with a mild detergent and warm water solution, such as 1 oz. of washing liquid mixed with 2 gallons of warm water. Do not use solvent-based or abrasive cleaners. Use soft sponge and rinse with clean water. Wipe with soft, clean towel to prevent water spotting.
- Clean stainless steel with mild detergent and warm-water solution and damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Interior cleaning: When necessary, defrost and thoroughly clean inside of unit with mild soap and water. Do not use electrical heating devices, sharp or pointed tools when defrosting.
- When defrosting or turning off the unit, leave the door open. This allows air to dry the inside of the cabinet, reducing the chance for mildew and mold, and damage to the mechanism's components.

Great icemaker for the boat

I bought in January, installed in April. Cheaper in January. Love it better than the uline that came with the boat. Makes ice quickly. Very satisfied and fit was perfect. Used the uline faceplate. Buffed off the white paint. Was stainless underneath and 2 little notches cut out allowed the uline faceplate to work.

Modern and compact design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whynter replaced my old model under warranty with this one and it's much better. Nice compact design. My only issue is it sometimes freezes up and doesn't produce ice. Usually if I turn it off, defrost it and. turn it on again it works. The door definitely needs to be closed hard. It's easy to leave it ajar, probably why it freezes up.
