    • Kettle is designed to work on medium heat, so you can save energy by not having burner on full blast.

    Care

    • Wipe with damp cloth, then buff with soft, dry cloth to polish surface.

    Way way too high maintenance

As a teapot, this works fine. I got this because I have an old Victorian house and this fits the vibe perfectly. However, for the price, this is really high maintenance. It tarnishes rather quickly. Very cumbersome to clean. If you don’t clean it as soon as it tarnishes it will take you half a day to get it polished up looking brand new. So basically it’s just for looks if you want something that looks really cool. Just don’t use it. My husband says it the water he boils in our has a funky taste. Honestly, if I didn’t spend so much money on this, I would just get rid of it. Don’t waste your money.

Extremely Disappointed with Quality & Service!!!

I was so excited for this beautiful tea kettle, only to be extremely disappointed with the quality and the customer service I received when I tried to exchange it! The first kettle I received had multiple blemishes on the copper surface, maybe from welds? These were dark spots on the shiny surface and quite visible. I have tons of copper cookware and pans and have never seen this before. I called WS and was promised a replacement in a few days. It never came so I called again in 2 weeks. Turns out, the customer service rep never even placed a replacement/return for me! I had to wait another week, only to get a kettle in even worse condition!!! The replacement had visible rust spots, small scratches on the top, and significant scratches on the bottom. I didn't even bother taking it out of the plastic! This brand may have produced quality kettles in the past, but the current quality is simply unacceptable!!! I'm shocked that Williams Sonoma doesn't perform regular quality control checks on the products they sell! Returning immediately! Don't waste your time and energy!

    Takes forever to boil

I was so excited to receive my pot. Immediately rinsed it out, added filtered water and placed it on the burner on medium heat as directed: Took almost an hour for water to boil. In addition the whistle is not very loud when it finally boils.

    25 years and counting

I have had this kettle for 25 years or more and used it every day I was home. It is a great kettle and I have always loved it even though it was an expensive purchase. It does require some upkeep to keep it looking decent, and the whistle seems to have retired, but I just can't let it go. And I don't clean it often. If you have an issue with the lid, as below, it is copper so you can squeeze or expand the flange to get the fit you want. If the lid doesn't clamp down you won't get the whistle so much. When I need a new kettle, I will buy exactly the same one.

    One of my favorite pieces!

I’ve had my kettle for at least 10+years. It’s not only beautiful but very functional. There was a time when I was faithful to keep it polished but do it now only a couple times a year.I enjoy it more now that I am not a slave to keeping it polished. I would definitely recommend it. I’ve been collecting copper pots now for more than 20 years.

    It's a good kettle but

After 4 years I just got tired of cleaning it. Copper pots are easy but this kettle has so many crevices, bends, etc. that cleaning and polishing became a chore. The whistle isn't too exciting just incredibly loud and I never really found it that aesthetically pleasing either. My stove is propane and I live at sea level and find I can boil water quickly in a saucepan. I don't know that this kettle saved much time in that way either.

    Workhorse

My wife purchased this for a Holiday gift in 2000. I have used it almost everyday for 19 years. We like the natural patina but i have polished it in the past and it looks beautiful either way. Worth the investment.
