    High-performance Shun Classic knives are now available with a contemporary natural look. The Classic Blonde collection marries the exceptional Damascus-style blades of the Classic series with comfortable PakkaWood handles in a light-colored wood tone. Featuring a VG-MAX super-steel core and microthin layers of stainless steel, each of these knives is ultra-sharp, lightweight and deftly balanced. This set includes a Slimline bamboo block with slots for four knives, kitchen shears (sold separately) and a honing steel.

    • Each VG-MAX super-steel blade is clad on each side with 34 microthin layers of stainless steel, creating variegated look reminiscent of Damascus-style blade.

    Use

    • Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
    • Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal and glass.
    • It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone, as other blades can be easily damaged.

    Care

    • Hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent; rinse and dry immediately.
    • Avoid cleaners containing bleach and citrus extracts.
    • In order to maximize the life of the blades, regular honing with a Shun steel is necessary. Weekly honing will extend the time between sharpening significantly. When the time comes to sharpen these blades, we recommend using a whetstone or the Kai electric sharpener (specifically designed to sharpen Shun's 16-degree blade angle), taking them to a professional sharpener or sending them to our service center in Tualatin, Oregon, for free sharpening.

    Well crafted high quality knives . . .

    These are beautifully crafted, well balanced and extremely sharp kitchen knives (Shun Premier) a must for proper food preparation however, if you have never been taught proper techniques for cutting nor understand how cutting surfaces effect the blade (i.e. you are use to cutting your food with a "battle axe" on concrete) then these knives may not be for you.

    Best knives ever!

    I absolutely love these knives! I was given the set as a gift. By far my favorite gift I have received! I cook and bake a lot so kitchen tools are important to me. These completely changed up my food prep game. The ease of use make cutting through even the hardest or largest things slip like butter. The color really looks great in my kitchen, brightens and opens it up with positive space. I agree that these knives seem “fragile” in comparison to other brands but design is what makes them a Shun. I have a variety of knives but Shun has been my favorite. These are not knives to use and not care for. They are tools and should be treated as such. The only con I would say would be not adding the 7” to the block set mainly because I like that style for smaller quick prep work.

    Worst knifes ever

    I decided to give my mom the set for her wedding anniversary and not even a month later the knife is having chips . She only cut onions and tomatoes . Do not buy these , they also look cheap .
