Messermeister Next Level Magnetic Block

Looks amazing, functions horribly...

I really like the look of this and thought it would be great, but as other reviewers have said the magnets fall off and then it become unsafe. The bottom two have full detached and you cannot glue or fix them because the space is too small.

Disappointing

Wood pieces were not aligned properly which made the knife block look out of kilter. Ordered a second & it had the same issue. Evidently a design flaw or manufacturing process. Disappointing because I loved the design concept

Poor Quality Construction, Dangerous

The magnets work well but as another review mentioned, they become unglued from the block itself in a number of weeks and, after a few months of owning, 2 of them have fully detached. Quite dangerous when they are holding knives. Would like my money back.

Design flaw

The block itself is beautiful, but the magnets are glued on the wood rather than embedded. Unfortunately, the glue failed within weeks and has stayed to peel away which is disappointing.

Avoid the UV version

Was ordered while 'In Stock' on 24 APR 2024. Estimated delivery was approx 20 MAY 2024 (about a month) - which seemed reasonable to save on shipping. End of MAY rolls around and received a message that the product was no long 'In Stock' (what do I care about the status a month after I ordered it.....?). Finally received the product on 02 JUL 2024. The UV light doesn't work. It is elegant looking and seems to have reasonable magnetic strength - though it should be stronger in my opinion. Did I mention, the brand new item has a non-functional UV light (a $20 blemish). I tried 4 sets of batteries in the correct and reverse alignment. Just doesn't work. Had given away my other knife block and don't want to wait another 4 months to return and receive a replacement with no guarantee of functionality.... Don't buy the UV version.

Took too long to get it

It took 2 and half months to get this product. The color of wood does look natural either. Also, unlike what it says in the website, this is not made in Germany. It is made in China. Make sure you double check the dimensions as well. It is bulkier than I thought.

weak magnets

only works with longer or wider chef style knives suspect longer than 7" to avoid them getting them knocked off trying to remove or replace an adjacent knife

Perfect substitute for wall magnet

I always have my knifes out for easy access. I koced into a how that had nice black splash and I didn't want to attach a magnet to the wall. This is a nice compromise, it looks nice and doesn't take up much room.

Handy

It is very nice looking and works very well at storing different knives

Messermeister with UV

The Messermeister's design looks great. Unfortunately, after we installed the batteries for UV lighting, it did not work. We sent it back and ordered the Messermeister without the UV light.
