    Excellent Food Processor

I purchased the Magimix 5200 nearly a year ago from their U.S. distributor, NutriMill. If there are any issues, go to NutriMill's website and contact them there. They have been very helpful with questions I've had. Now to the processor. It is a beast and an amazing one at that. Not sure what the problem is with the people who complain about this, as this processor does it all. I have found the plastic strong, the blades solid, and everything works as it should. The mixer is incredibly powerful and has been outstanding for me. I researched it long before buying it, which may be something some reviewers here did not do. I understood its minor quirks before purchasing. Is it perfect? No. Nothing is. I considered the Magimix and the Breville Paradice 16. I wanted a full-size, high-capacity food processor. I wanted a machine that could power through everything I put it through. It has done so beautifully. It is easy to clean and has excellent attachments. I like the three bowl setup, as it makes small jobs to large jobs easier to do. I am very happy with my purchase and it was worth every penny. YouTube is a great resource to learn more about this processor and I suggest, if you're considering it, to check them out. This is an investment, not a purchase.

I would return it if I could

If I could return it, I would. It is very heavy and difficult for my wife to use. Making bolognese twice now, it cannot evenly chop up 3 quartered onions or a bunch of mushrooms in the largest bowl/blade without leaving some large, barely touched pieces. Blending whole tomatoes down results in bad leaking from center and sides. A nice selection of features, but at this price there should not be accessory blades to buy. My 30 year old Braun K1000, RIP, was a far superior machine. The Magimix is a well quality built machine, but I cannot recommend.

    If you can, buy it!

Best food processor I have ever owned! I am professionally trained in the culinary arts and enjoyed using my original 1980’s ‘Cusinart’ food processor. When I won a new processor I gave away my original and was so disappointed with the newer models lack of power, cheap plastic parts, noise etc. I kept looking at this Magimix wondering if it was really that much better or were all processors just cheap versions of their old selves. Oh, my! This is so powerful, much quieter, better plastic parts, safety features are designed right into the parts so when you handle them you are less likely to drop them or hurt yourself. I can not say enough about this processor. I am a minimalist and keep all appliances and equipment off my counters…except for this. I enjoy using it every day despite having excellent knife skills! If you can, buy it!

    No Repair Facility

Do not buy this brand.  I purchased mine because of the great reputation of RobotCoupe, the manufacturer.  For years, it worked fine, but then I needed a repair.  Well, good luck finding a repair facility in the United States.  I emailed LeChef, the only USA contact I could find.  I received an automated reply that they had received my email, but there was never any follow-up.  This machine is way too expensive to not have good support.

    Leaves stains whereever it sits.

I "upgraded" from a Cuisinart that I had had for more than 20 years because of the reputation of Robot-Coupe. The food processor itself is fine, but there must be something in the little rubber discs that are underneath the processor that "leach" into any surface that the food processor sits on. When we had a kitchen remodel done, I moved it to our dining room table for two days. I was appalled when I went to move it back to the kitchen and realized that it had left these circular marks that went through the finish on the table so now I either have to have the tabletop refinished or keep a tablecloth on it at all times! I moved it to our new Cambria countertops after putting furniture sliders to cover the little rubber "feet" on the underside of the Magimix and found that in spite of the sliders, it leached through the felt sliders and still left circular marks on our new Cambria countertops! Fortunately, with a great deal of effort, we were able to clean the marks off the countertops (but were never able to get them off the dining room table! We no longer keep it on the counter, though, as we don't want to risk ruining our counters, even though in more than 20 years of use, our Cuisinart never had that issue. I would definitely not recommend purchasing this product!

    Great large food processor

I have had the 16-cup Magimix since Oct 2011 (~9 years). It is very powerful and has lots of room. It's been used for hummus, pizza dough, shredding tons of cheese (including parm). It's actually the fastest way to make a veg gratin at my disposal. I mostly use the main bowl as it's not worth doing a little in this monster of a food processor (I have nice slicers and box grater). I have purchased additional accessories from the US servicer (listed on magimix's US website) without issue. The only issue I've experienced is for shredding items. Once the item is mostly shredded, there's always a bit left (maybe 1/4" thickness .. never measured). Its predecessor (11c Cuisinart, also manufactured by robot coupe around 2000) does the same. I don't really expect much better from others. Never had an issue with the Cuisi either; it resides in my attic for now. I have not experienced the machine moving around the counter. It sits still for me under normal use. It is quite large and relatively heavy. It thus sits on my countertop. No regrets.

    Excellent food processor

I have had mine for 12 years and use it frequently. I have made pesto, humus and many other recipes in mine and have been satisfied with the quality of the product.

Base cracked after 4 years of use

I purchased what I thought was the Cadillac of food processors with the intention of getting a lifetime of use. The food processor is fast and quiet but after 4 years of use, and sliding on my countertop the base cracked and then chunks of plastic started falling off the bottom until one of the feet eventually fell of. I put round furniture sliders on the bottom about 6 months ago when I realized it was cracking which allowed it to glide on the counter more smoothly, unfortunately it was to let and the base is no longer level. So disappointed and I would urge WS to stop selling this brand.

    Great Machine, Great Company

I use my Magimix 5200XL frequently so I thought it was time to write a review. This machine make kitchen oreo so much easier and faster. I use it to chop veggies, slice apples, make shredded salads, pie crust, pizza dough, bread dough, pasta dough, pierogi dough, orange juice etc. I haven’t used my KitchenAid mixer as much since purchasing this machine around 2013. I purchased a reconditioned unit. At christmas time I made many batches of pierogi. I filled the container too full and it got warm when I was mixing the dough. I didn’t turn the machine off soon enough and the blade melted onto the plastic part that turns the blade. Oops! I waited a while to send it in for repair because I was not looking forward to the bill plus the cost to mail it to UT. I love this machine and wanted to repair it because it is so valuable in the kitchen. I sent it in for service fully expecting a repair bill. Once I sent it in for service I didn’t get an expected phone call with a price estimate for fixing. After about a week had passed, I called and left a message. I left a message again the next day. I think I left three messages in total and didn’t hear anything back. Then the day after I left the last message an unexpected package was left on my doorstep; my machine. It was repaired and returned to me with no costs to me other than the price I paid for postage. Amazing! I understand why they didn’t contact me about the repair because they didn’t need anything from me. I am just thrilled to have my machine back, and I am thrilled that Magimix repair fixed it under warranty. I never expected this repair to be covered under warranty and I had expected to pay for the repair. I am very happy with my machine and the service from Magimix/L’Chef.
