You get burned A LOT

I have burned myself more than I can remember with this kettle. As I write this review I’m in so much pain 5 hours post my burn. If you use up the water and open the lid, steam burn, cause the handle is right in the middle of the kettle. My kid did not fully close the cap( and you have to press harder) to get it to close well it flew off and because the handle is in the center I got steam burned again, I want to throw it though my window! Not cool to spend almost $100 on something that’s not practical. Would not recommend

Past the 1 yr warranty so no help with a leak

I actually ordered the previous model, Perth electric kettle from WS 2.5 yrs ago. It is now leaking because the plastic window and rubber seal are disintegrating (from the extreme temperatures). I used it 5 days a week, one time a day. Called WS and Haden for at least a replacement part to purchase but since it's out of the 1 year warranty window they could do nothing for me. It's a shame to throw out so much metal after 2.5 yrs. of use. I wonder how much plastic I drank over time. Not an environmentally-thoughtful business practice. I thought it was a beautiful kettle and worked well until the leak. Now I know not to get a kettle with any plastic or rubber.

Way too much plastic inside.

Way too much plastic inside the kettle that would effect the water quality. Plastic holder for the screen for the spout (that we don't need) ; plastic backing for the capacity indicator; and plastic attaching the temperature gauge. There is another piece of plastic on top of a rod of some unknown purpose - but this is high enough in the pot that it is probably above the water level although not the steam level. When I started the return process the screen that came up was that it couldn't be returned. But I called the customer number and it turns out that it is fact returnable but you need to call rather than do it online.

Beautiful, Quiet, Efficient

I love this kettle. So much faster than my old cheap Breville brand. It is efficient and quiet. I love the temperature guage and the fill-line tells me how many cups of tea I can make. It's also beautiful. The interior is metal and yet the kettle is quite light-weight.

Nice to sign, but poor programming.

Nice design and quickly heats up water. However, no way of maintaining the water hot. After it reaches it maximum temperature it immediately turns off and the water quickly cools down.

I love this kettle. I does not necessarily heat faster than my old Braun one, but it's made well sturdy, hold a lot of water, and makes a lovely rolling boil sound as it heats. Very stylish, too.

A great gift!

Gave this as a gift. Very very quiet, efficient and doesn't take up a lot of counter space. The feature that they really like is the dial on the front - great fun to watch!

Complete xmas disaster and waste of my time

Worst company to trust simple order and execution dont buy from WS. Ordered this with clear instructions to deliver for xmas gift well well in advance. Confirmed will ship to my house. Call near xmas to tell me UPS sent back to sender. No notice of it at UPS. No notice that it was a pick up. Confirmed ship to address was my house. So told wife it will be late and gave her a picture at xmas. Now Jan 10 I call where is the order that they confirmed this time would be shipped to my house and by the way the support call told me they did not know why UPS did that but don't worry. Well yesterday I find out they did it again. UPS sent it back to sender. For my endless time and sad xmas wife ghift giving I now will use my time to help others not shop at WS
