Buy only if you like 1-sided toast

If you love to waste both time and money, definitely buy this toaster. Mine made lovely toast for less than two months, then stopped toasting on the bottom. Customer service is inefficient, but they did agree my toaster was defective and sent a replacement. The replacement failed to toast the bottom of the bread right out of the box. When I contacted customer service again, they actually claimed that only the top of the bread is supposed to toast! Below, I've copied their email verbatim. Thank you for contacting BALMUDA support center. Thank you for your inquiry. At this time, the Artisan bread mode is programed to only toast the top of the bread and the heating element is designed to only illuminate during the last minute of the cycle. Please use the first mode for more toasting on the bottom. We again, thank you and hope you have a wonderful day. You are a valued customer and we appreciate your business. Broke at 2.5 years

Although I loved this toaster oven, it one day suddenly stopped working after 2.5 years. Customer service said it was outside their warranty and couldn't do anything. I asked for replacement parts or possible ways to fix the issue and they said there was nothing they could do. Horrible experience. Wouldn't recommend buying them.

Took a chance and hit a home run

I have been looking to replace my SMEG toaster for a while. It just kept taking longer and longer to toast my morning toast. After hours of research, I took t what I considered the risky move and purchased this toaster oven. I admit, adding water to a toaster seemed odd to me. The results are, everyone at home an all that visit toast bread at every meal. I have toasted several types of bread, English muffins, bagels and reheated pizza. This thing is amazing.

Designed to Fail

Beware of anything Balmuda. The toaster worked for a short time. But then it broke (heat tube failed) and they don't offer any support or sell replacement parts. They sell you a $300+ toaster that's designed to fail just so they can sell you another rather than replacing a $10 part. This is cooperate greed at its finest. Vote with your dollars and stand up to this kind of behavior. Williams Sonoma please stop carrying this product. You are better than this.

Stopped working after 2 years - AVOID.

Stopped working after 2 years. One day it worked fine, the next day it wouldn’t turn on. Customer service was of no help as they don’t offer repair at all. They do not stand behind their product. Avoid unless you want to spend $300 on a toaster every couple of years.

Doesn't toast evenly on both sides of bread

Beware! If you're looking for a toaster oven that browns both sides of the bread evenly this isn't the toaster oven for you. To me at least that's a basic requirement. Most of what I toast is individual slices of bread. What it's good at apparently is restoring stale bread to its former moistness. I've talked customer service and I'm using the toaster correctly and it's working correctly. I've tried both the steam and without steam method. The only way to get the bottom of the bread toasted like the top is to flip the bread over half way through the toasting time. The toaster is great to look at and love the small size but making evenly toasted bread now requires the extra step of flipping the slice over! Doesn't seem worth it for $300. Very disappointed.

Worth the splurge!

The toaster is aimple and easy to use. Minimalist aesthetic and design. It perfectly toasts any and ever everytime. Crispy texture yet still soft and chewy on the inside. The oven feature also quickly heats up and makes it more convenient to use instead of waiting for the oven to come to temperature.

Stops working after a year.

The toaster was fine for the first year but then the top toasting element stopped working. Customer service is horrible. The actually hung up on me. Also instead of acknowledging a defective product the said to just turn the bread over do it will toast on both sides. This obviously defeats the whole point of a toaster.

I love it! Toasted bread ,with a soft interior. I heated a calzone using the oven and it was great.
