This is the perfect size

Manageable cutting board, looks great
I use the cutting board for salads and vegetables, not meats or chicken because the fat will stain it. I like to keep it out on my light quartz counter. It is very attractive. I do recommend this product and bought it at Williams Sonoma. I use it everyday. I am an experienced cook.

Shun makes great knives, as well as cutting boards
I was looking for a heavier cutting board, but then discovered this one after seeing the other options in the store. I know Shun makes great knives, so it's only fitting that they can make a great cutting board. It was the right size, and had a channel to capture runoff from cutting. The weight was nice, and I appreciate being able to move the board around without feeling flimsy or too cumbersome. When I took it home and unwrapped it, I was pleasantly surprised by the nice aroma. The board was made from Cypress wood. It was softer compared to other cutting boards and was grippy. The knife strokes felt accurate. I treated the board with mineral oil for preservation and water proofing. Overall, I would definitely reccomend this board!

Great cutting board but it does stain
Great cutting board but stains so if you are looking for your board to be functional and stay beautiful I don't think it's possible. I have yellow stains from onion and green from parsley. Even when you oil it, it still stains.

Boards holding up well.
I have learned a lot about knife maintenance from Shun. There is no way to keep a knife sharp on a hard board. The Japanese Cyprus boards are essential. Shuns are good quality and hold up well. I have a naked board, and my new boards I sealed with food grade tung oil. It lasts far better than mineral oil and beeswax.

Other than some staining it
Other than some staining it is a wonderful cutting board. Will probably buy a second one in the near future.
