Use & Care
Care
- Clean espresso filters weekly. Follow instructions in manual.
- Clean espresso boiler outlet after brewing approx. 300 espressos. Make sure coffee maker is unplugged and has cooled down first. Follow instructions in manual.
- Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents to clean coffee maker. Use soft damp cloth only. Clean portafilter, filters, drip tray and water tank regularly.
- To empty drip tray, extract cup tray grill, remove water and clean tray with cloth. Then reassemble drip tray.
- Descale notification will flash when it is time to descale machine. Use descaler solution. Follow instructions in manual.

I upgraded to this model. I love it! Expresso is awesome and the coffee maker next to it makes it so easy to do both.

Milk froth is a problem

Milk frothed stopped working after a few days. It was great for a few days.

Worked ok, until it didn't.

Lasted a few years, mostly only used the drip side because I could never get the espresso side to work correctly. The espresso was weak even though I changed the coffee, adjusted the grind, ETC. It also leaked every time I used the espresso side. The brew side worked well, until it didn't. One day it stopped brewing, no water pumping and the machine did not get hot. Contacted customer service and I must have explained the issue 3 different times (no water is moving when I turn it on and the plate does not get hot) something internally burned out. Fair enough, its a few years old, but then they wanted videos. I could only send a shortened clip because of size limits. They told me I wasn't selecting the right buttons for brewing...like I haven't brewed a pot a day for at least the last 2 years. Then they wanted me to upload a full length video on YouTube to diagnose the problem. I gave up at that point knowing they will not help me. Moving to a different brand all together, not worth the hassle honestly.

My only reasons for not rating the machine 5 stars are that I was surprised and disappointed that (1) It did not come with a pitcher for frothing the milk. Since it comes with a carafe for the coffee, I expected a pitcher for milk. (Perhaps I should have read the description more closely.) Anyway, I have ordered the De'Longhi frothing pitcher separately and will wait another few days to enjoy my first latte. (2) It does not signal when brewing is complete. Other than those things, I like the machine. It is easy to use and the instructions are very simple and clear. Also, I like its diminutive size.

Brewed to Death: A Love Story in 4,000 Coffees

This is a review of the longevity of this machine. We purchased this machine over five years ago and have used it at least twice a day (we love our coffee, and I love a latte after supper). If you maintain it as per the instructions, it works amazingly. Unfortunately, it left today for the great big espresso in the sky; however, we will be purchasing this unit again!

Electric Shock milk froth knob never worked

The dual functionality is a nice perk…pun intended. The espresso machine never worked properly. The milk frother worked once, and it wasn’t even that great. The knob to the milk frother is now causing electric shock when touching it. We haven’t had this very long. Very disappointing. Would not recommend buying this.

Bad expresso

The expresso portion of the maker is very disappointing. The temperature only get to 149°. You need at least 195° to make a decent expresso. I will not recommend this.
