    Use & Care

    Use

    • Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
    • Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass.
    • It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone, as other blades can be easily damaged.

    Care

    • Hand-wash with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse and dry immediately.
    • Maintain the knife's cutting edge by regularly using a honing steel.
    • Sharpen as needed. With regular use and honing, you should not need to sharpen your knife more than once or twice a year.
    • Sharpen knife at home using a whetstone or knife sharpener, or have it sharpened by a professional.
    • Store knife in a safe place to protect its edge and prevent injury.

    Gorgeous and a pleasure to use

    I'm an amateur chef who takes extra pleasure in using high-quality utensils. I have some very nice, durable knives but decided to splurge and buy more first Japanese-inspired utility knife. This is just gorgeous, feels amazing in the hand is super-sharp. I seek excuses to us it!

    Stunning to behold and hold

    This is my first Japanese-made knife and…wow. I have a nice collection of high-quality knives that will remain great for daily use, but I’m going to seek reasons to pull out the Miyabi. It’s gorgeous, sharp as promised, and perfectly balanced. A joy to hold and use.

    Disappointed

    For such a reputable company that isn’t cheap, it was very disappointing to not only order a personalized knife, then to have to return it before you would send the correct one. This was a gift that was ruined because of your error and then I had to return the knife that was wrong and wait for the next knife to come. Not only that but I had to pay for shipping as well. Again – your error.

    Great gift for the husband!

    Beautiful knife! I bought this for my husband as a birthday gift and he loves it. The design is very nice with a comfortable handle and sharp blade! It’s very well designed and well balanced in the hand, so its very comfortable to hold. Doesn’t feel cheap and overall good build.
