    Use & Care

    Use

    • Board should be seasoned with a food-grade mineral oil before first use.
    • To season the board properly, apply the oil in the direction of the wood grain using a clean, dry cloth. Allow the oil to soak in and repeat with another application. Allow the board to dry and wipe off any excess oil.

    Care

    • Hand-wash with hot, soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
    • Do not soak or submerge board in water.
    • Occasionally rub with a food-safe mineral oil to keep wood from drying out.
    • To sanitize, wash the board with a solution of one part vinegar to five parts water.
    • Remove odors by rubbing the board with kosher or table salt and half a lemon. Let sit for 2 to 3 minutes then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Remove excess moisture with a clean paper towel and stand the board on end to air dry.
    • Store in a dry area away from extreme temperatures.

    Pretty Good

Beautiful board. Thinner than some, which is what we wanted. I didn’t like how it lost its smooth finish after one hand-washing. We are oiling it per instructions, but that finish hasn’t returned yet. It served up a lovely 18-pound prime rib over Christmas, so it did its job.

    Another cutting board fail.

This was my first WS cutting board failure. Cracked, warped, and deteriorating within 6 months of careful use (wash/dry immediately, mineral oil, upright storage).

    Should have sanded it

Great Christmas present. Perfect size, simple clean design. But after having used it once,I now realize that I have to sand the entire thing and treat it with oil. The channels are absolutely fuzzy, and the working surface needs help. Not that big a deal, but it certainly does not fit with what I've come to expect from WS.

    Beautiful wood, but it cracked

My husband and I received this as a wedding gift and I loved it! The color is beautiful and we even kept it out on our counter on display. We've had it for about a year now and have used the board lotion on it per recommendation, but unfortunately, we just realized that the board has cracked. Of course we realized this while my husband was carving the turkey during our early Thanksgiving celebration. Juices got everywhere and it was a total mess in front of our 20 guests. :( hoping we can exchange this for a new one!
