Use & Care
Use
- Board should be seasoned with a food-grade mineral oil before first use.
- To season the board properly, apply the oil in the direction of the wood grain using a clean, dry cloth. Allow the oil to soak in and repeat with another application. Allow the board to dry and wipe off any excess oil.
Care
- Hand-wash with hot, soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
- Do not soak or submerge board in water.
- Occasionally rub with a food-safe mineral oil to keep wood from drying out.
- To sanitize, wash the board with a solution of one part vinegar to five parts water.
- Remove odors by rubbing the board with kosher or table salt and half a lemon. Let sit for 2 to 3 minutes then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Remove excess moisture with a clean paper towel and stand the board on end to air dry.
- Store in a dry area away from extreme temperatures.

Cutting board warps in a month

Board has warped and no longer lies flat. It was cleaned with warm soapy water as instructed. Never immersed in water.

Piece of junk

Only use this particular board a few times a year. The board was well taken care of as I have a collection of wooden boards in all shapes and sizes and I know how to care for them. This one developed small cracks shortly after purchase and we finally had to throw it away.

Purchase Large- Great cutting board

We do a lot of BBQ and use this regularly to carry meat to and from the kitchen. The drip ridge is a must, and we are very happy with this board. We oiled it upon delivery and it's been going strong ever since. We will be purchasing a second one.

Disappointing performance

Please do not spend your money on this cutting board. I used mineral oil as directed, only washed it under running water and dried quickly but it warps day after the WS 30- day return policy expires. I find it amazing that company like Williams-Sanoma doesn’t stand by their own, branded products. Even when defective.

Horrible

Got this board less than 2 months ago from the William Sonoma in Westport CT. Board cracked in 2 places almost immediately. Tried to return it for store credit and they refused to give it. Very poor customer service and product. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Horrible & Breaks Shortly After Purchase

I had been holding off on writing a review, hoping the initial cracks that appeared in the board would be the end of it...now, our cutting board is about to fall into several different pieces from the deep cracks throughout. This is my first cutting board purchased from Williams Sonoma and will be the last! The cracks started within a couple weeks of purchase and just got worse from there. WS needs to stop producing this horribly built product. Please stay away!

Horrible! Broke apart immediately

I received the cutting board as part of my wedding registry. My husband and I were very excited to receive such a beautiful cutting board. We used it once and when we cleaned it, the board immediately broke into 6 pieces! Very poorly made and would 10/10 NOT suggest buying it or putting it on your registry. FYI Customer service would not give us a new board or a refund.

Board split

I've had this board for 4 months. I purchased the mineral board oil to go along with it to make sure that it stayed in great condition. Unfortunately it's already split! I've hand washed the board and dried it while at an angle while and making sure I applied oil. All preventative steps and it still split. Will hope that W-S will refund.

Terrible board

I was given this carving board as a gift the end of January. I've used it about 5 times, and it completely split in half yesterday. It had started to split almost right away. I will take it back and see if W-S will replace it.
