New and Improved means New and Improved

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my 2015 Philips XL with the newer XXL for two reasons: Size and Size. The older unit has been great with no failures or other issues. The new unit is markedly improved with great new features such as an oil collector system, removable basket surface (much easier to clean) and a higher cooking temp (400 vs 390). I couldn't part with Old Faithful so I now have two fryers to make larger batches of chicken wings!

Two year life span. No repair available. Anywhere.

Great as long as it works. If it’s a day over 2 years old forget getting it repaired. The fan stopped working and all i cal do is put it in the garbage No service centers for Phillips in the USA. The customer service personnel is challenged. Hours on the phone to get nowhere. I’m not buying a Phillips air fryer again.

So compact and sufficient for just 2 of us.

Easy to clean and cooks well with no fuss at all. Food crispy and not tasting oily. So health.9

This fryer is going to a college apartment! I’m sure the girls will make good use of it, we have one at home and it is used daily!

The smoke free technology doesn't work

We purchased this model going on the specifications specially the smoke free. We have not been able to make any type of meat even with very little fat to cook without smoking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really am a big fan of airfryer XXL. This is my second one. I so wish that there was a coverage over heating element so upper wall of the fryer wouldn't get covered with grease. Cleaning the ceiling of the fryer is very difficult.

This is my 3rd one! Sadly let down AGAIN

I have a love/hate with this machine. Obviously I love it if we are talking about this being my 3rd XXL Philips Air Fryer! But why are we even on #3? It was convenient and cooked beautifully, until it breaks. I have a large family, 4 kids plus 2 adults. We literally use our air fryer every day. Many times we use it multiple times a day. We don’t travel with it and clean it very very carefully. I treat it like a prized possession. lol, not joking. First one was roughly cleaned and used a lot, breaking some of the rules on how to use it. When it stopped heating all together we were not completely shocked because it had lasted 2-3 years of constant use and abuse. Second one lasted 1+ year and when it stopped heating all together it was literally the worst timing possible. My father was visiting and decided to stop what he was doing and go replace it for me as a gift. I was happy and appreciative especially because I know exactly how to use this machine, how long specific dishes take to cook and so on. But I was not planning myself to buy the same machine if the same problem happened again. Now we are on the third machine. This one lasted almost a year, almost. Now I’m standing here with a machine that won’t get hot unless it feels like it. There’s nothing that we can do to help it work, it’s always kept clean, always used correctly. It just doesn’t heat up consistently or at all anymore. As much as I love this machine, when it does work, it’s not a cheap machine to replace especially when we have to buy the XXL version to work for our family size. I have recommended this product countless times on my social media and have ranted and raved about it recommending people to spend that extra money to get a “higher quality product”. Sadly this product didn’t live up to my own reviews and I now need to find something that won’t die on me so quickly.
