- Rinse filter and filter holder under running water, or clean in the dishwasher.
- Hand-wash carafe in hot, soapy water with a soft brush. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Beautiful Appearane

I love the style appearance and color of the Smeg Coffee Maker. It brews a very good cup of coffee. However, the white light constantly flashes while the coffee maker is on and the coffee lid is poorly designed. The lid is completely flat so if the carafe isn’t flush with your coffee cup, coffee will spill out between the carafe and the cup.

I would not waste money on this coffee maker! The carafe has broken twice now ( I had to buy a replacement one that broke within 2 months).

Short life span

Had it for a year and it stopped working, it actually was acting wonky a short time prior, customer service doesn’t work with you and so it’s now in the garbage. It is a beautiful design, and makes good coffee, but just know you will replace it yearly.

Quirky Perfection

We absolutely love our SMEG coffeemaker. We use it every day, multiple times a day, and have done so for years. You do have to SLIGHTLY angle the pot as you pour water into the coffeemaker, but not a big deal. We're clutzy, and we succeed at it for every brew. It does require more frequent cleaning than a Mr. Coffee, but then again, our coffee tastes better. Nothing beats it's retro, "The Jetsons," style. L-o-v-e love it!

Looks Great - POOR FUNCTIONALITY

This coffee pot has several design and functionality flaws. #1. The lid does not open far enough such that when you're pouring the last bit of water from the pot into the reservoir it's difficult to do. #2. It doesn't make very hot coffee and certainly doesn't keep it hot enough, there's no temperature select option. #3. BE AWARE it only makes 10 cups. The "ON" button flashes constantly until the warming tray shuts off. Who in this day and age designs something with a constant flashing light.

Terrible Functionality

This coffee maker was gifted to me for Christmas and I cannot wait to get rid of it. Why? Unlike any inexpensive coffee maker, it continues to drip coffee when the pot is removed, despite the so-called “pause and pour” function. EVERY SINGLE TIME. So, unless you want to wait until the coffee is finished brewing, you will waste multiple paper towels cleaning up the mess when pouring a cup of coffee. Even after it has brewed a pot, there will always be several drops of coffee that spill onto the hot plate, which will continue to sizzle until burned into the plate…not easy to clean. I wrote SMEG about the problem and received no response. Spare yourself the hassle and do not buy this product. Will be going back to my reliable Braun. May not be as decorative but infinitely better designed.

Smeg Coffee Machine is a BUST!!

Is Broken just after a month and a half of use. On line a lot of people have had problems with the on/off button not be soldered at the factory properly, causing the unit not to work. Stay away from this brand, no matter how cute it is!
