    Use & Care

    Use

    • For best results, use with freshly roasted specialty coffee beans. If roast is beyond 30 days, increase grind size and use dual-wall filter baskets (included).

    Care

    • Wipe exterior and cup warming tray clean with soft, damp cloth. Wipe dry with soft, dry cloth.
    • Wipe steam wand clean after texturing milk with damp cloth.
    • Avoid using abrasive cleansers, pads and cloths, which can scratch surfaces.
    • Rinse filter baskets and portafilter under hot water immediately after use to remove residual coffee oils.
    • To clean conical burr grinder, use grinder cleaning cycle; removes oil buildup on burrs, which can impede performance.
    • Remove, empty and clean drip tray regularly, particularly when full indicator displays "EMPTY ME!"
    • Message prompt will appear when cleaning cycle is required. This back-flushing cycle is separate from descaling. Follow on-screen instructions.
    • In addition to using provided water filter, we recommend descaling if there is visible scale buildup in water tank. Follow on-screen instructions.

    It’s ok but….

I need to use it more, but I’m slightly regretting not getting the Oracle touch. All the automated dialing in of the coffee really isn’t producing a superior cup and I don’t like the milk frother. Considering exchanging for the more expensive model

Great Machine! Poor Customer Service Policy!

The Breville Barista Touch Impress Espresso Machine is everything I hoped it would be. It is simple to use and clean. The espresso drinks are fast and consistent. It was a replacement for a 20+ year old Saeco Barista machine. I had high expectations and the Breville did not disappoint. As happy as I am with the Breville machine, I am very disappointed with Williams Sonoma. The machine was on sale for $200 less than I paid only two weeks after I received my machine. I called customer service to ask for a price adjustment — which is a normal expectation within 30 days of purchase. I was very disappointed to hear that Williams Sonoma does not grant price adjustments after products are delivered. I would have been happy with a gift card, which I would then spend on more products in the Williams Sonoma family of brands. But nope, no way. I had future furniture purchases from Pottery Barn and possibly West Elm and Rejuvenation planned. I am now rethinking those purchases and looking elsewhere.

    Unhappy customer!

I want to love it but I don’t! I can’t make a perfect Cafe Americano. I have been on the phone with customer service and her answer was there is nothing wrong with your machine and sent me a link to a website on YouTube on how to use it. EVERY time I make a cup it says the grind is too coarse, so I have moved it from 15 gradually to 8 and it says the same thing. You can’t imagine how many test cups I have made. Also, the puck with every different grind continues to be too wet. Also, you should only have to tamp grounds 2-3 times and sometimes I have to do it 4-5 times.

    Machine doesn't work; is defective.

Extremely disappointed to have the Espresso Machine fail to turn on when we got it unpacked and set up. In fact, the box the machine came in indicated that it had previously been shipped to another customer, returned, and was then sent to us "as new" (with the corrugated shipping box reused). Clearly the prior purchaser had determined that the machine did not work, ignored the markings on the box (to return it to Breville and not to the store), and that Williams-Sonoma accepted the return, put it back in inventory, and shipped it to another customer (me) without determining it was functional and fully intact. I assume we'll eventually get a functional machine, but it's sure frustrating.

    New machine w/cold released a month later...bummer

Great machine. Haven't had any issues thus far. My only issue is that my husband gifted me this machine only for the same machine with cold brew was released a month later. Could not exchange the machine for the newer version.

    Love this machine!

I've had my machine for two years and I use it every day - Love it! Especially the ease of making cappuccino and an Americanco. My favorite is the ease of making coffee in the morning!

    Just OK.

The Breville Touch Impress promises much and delivers on some of it's promises. The intelligent dosing feature is often misleading. Despite producing very drinkable coffee, it constantly suggests changes to the grind size etc and this can be very confusing. I prepare a drink for my wife and the machine suggests a change to the grind size. Then I make the same drink for myself (without making any changes) and it says all is fine. Both drinks were acceptable. It makes me wonder why I paid for the intelligent dosing feature when it is so inconsistent. Another annoying feature is the way in which the puck sticks to the screen and fails to come away when I remove the basket after brewing. At that point, it suggests that the grind may be too fine despite earlier advising me to make it finer because the brewing was too fast. Go figure!! On the positive side, we have enjoyed some good Americanos and Cappuccinos but the water for the Americano takes a long time to produce.

    Never Again

After owning the machine for 2 years it started throwing error code ER05, obviously a know issue poor design. Disappointed so many complaints if this issue and go to Breville site and chat not available. Our daughter bought same machine and hers did same thing.

Gets too Hot - Broke entirely in less than 5 mos

This machine was faulty on delivery. It got so hot when brewing that it could only do one espresso shot an hour! Sometimes I could get 2 if I put frozen veggies on top of the machine to cool it down. Very frustrating and no response from Breville. This is my 4th Breville machine — the designs are beautiful but the quality is abysmal. I bought the machine at the end of January and it has now died entirely. Grinder is completely broken and won’t work. It won’t pull a true espresso shot — just a splash of extremely bitter eapresso. Milk frother is the only thing that still works. At $1200 I expect more than a frustrating 5 months of one espresso an hour use. Williams Sonoma is a company that I have always respected but the don’t stand behind the products they sell. Buyer beware.

    Breville fails on Customer Service

This made good espresso for about 11 months at which point it started to fail, sometimes it would not turn on. Breville Customers Service said I should just wait. Over 2 months it got worse and still no answer from Breville CS. Still waiting to hear from Breville regarding the 2 year limited product warranty. I want to get a new machine. It won’t be Breville.
