Use & Care
Use
- Board should be seasoned with food-grade mineral oil before first use.
- To season board properly, apply oil in direction of wood grain using clean, dry cloth. Allow oil to soak in and repeat with another application. Allow the board to dry and wipe off any excess oil.
Care
- Hand-wash with hot, soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
- Do not soak or submerge board in water.
- Occasionally rub with food-safe mineral oil to keep wood from drying out.
- To sanitize, wash board with solution of one part vinegar to five parts water.
- Remove odors by rubbing board with kosher or table salt and half a lemon. Let sit for 2–3 minutes then wipe clean with damp cloth. Remove excess moisture with clean paper towel and stand board on end to air-dry.
- Store in dry area away from extreme temperatures.

Absolute garbage

Want to pay hundreds of dollars for garbage? Buy this! My husband loves cooking, so I bought this for him for his birthday. This was just a few months ago and the board is splitting. We oil it every couple of weeks with food safe mineral oil meant for cutting boards, we wash with warm mild soapy water and let it dry sitting out. I bought this to the store to see if they could exchange it and the manager told me 'this looks like a board that wasn't taken care of'. Excuse me?! You have a faulty product, and your choice is to blame it on the customer?! She then went on to tell me it's 'normal' to have boards that split. My mind is blown. I am astounded by the lack of customer service and care in general. To not have customer service is one thing, but to blame the customer is another. We are particular people. We take care of our items. It's unfortunate to overpay for such a low-quality item. I am SO disappointed by Willams Sonoma and will absolutely not be shopping there again.

Cutting board

The board is beautiful, huge, and very heavy. It was perfect for carving our large Thanksgiving turkey. I gifted it to my daughter.

Substantial cutting board

Good size for a 20 turkey and beef tenderloin. Not too heavy.

Wood is warped after less than a month

This a beautiful cutting board however I’ve never submerged it in water and it’s warped after less than a month of use. I expect more from something so expensive.

Tradition lives here

Large, stable and beautiful. Replace a 3 decade old board I inherited from my dad. The family steaks from the grill live on this board again. :)

Disappointed !

Only used it a couple of times. It cracked down the middle. Maybe is the tropical weather. Very disappointed since it had Williams Sonomas name on it. Not to mention the price. I have other wood boards & had no problem with them.

Unfortunate

Purchased one, properly cared for, split. WS replaced, but not before announcing out loud that it clearly wasn’t cared for properly. Really great since it was Christmas time and store was packed. Embarrassing. Second one split also. Just threw it away amd didn’t even try to replace. After reading other reviews, I think this item should be discontinued.

perfect for a grand party

Think Thanksgiving and Holidays. It's the perfect size for a big roast and handsome to serve on. Great quality. it is pretty heavy though, so have someone help. I am thin, but fit with muscular arms but a little awkward for me.
