    Love our knife!

Beautiful Shun Hollow-Ground Chef’s knife. It’s our third. I believe our son keeps borrowing ours and doesn’t return it. Perfect cutting.

    Shun Knife for Christmas

I purchased this Shun knife for my son for a Christmas present, and he was thrilled! He already owned one Shun knife that he bought online, and he recognizes the quality.

    Excellent chef knife

I own 3 chef knives. This one is my 4th. It is superior to the others on every aspect, retains a sharper edge longer, very well balanced, very enjoyable to use and makes cutting easier. Very recommended.

    My Go-To Knife

Got my first Shun Classic (8” chef) about 10 years ago. They’re razor sharp and hold an edge a long time. So sharp that the cut face of a carrot is glass smooth. Despite the hardness, really easy to re-sharpen, even when small knocks have to be ground out. This 6” hollow-ground chef is light and nimble. It’s become the go-to for most tasks in my house which is why I just bought a second.

Good knife but shape is peculiar and challenging.

Good, but the shape is very peculiar and could be challenging for some. That upward looking blade tip is very prickly to destroy your fingertips. Had to adjust my technique after some 20 plus years using various Japanese knives ( Misono,Global,Tojiro,Hiromoto etc). I very much prefer Asian shape blades with my preference go to 7”,5.5”,4.25” Global blades due to excellent shape and easy of maintenance . Shun blade is too thick in my opinion, so when you are starting to cut a lot of cabbage then I would prefer Global Asian chef 7” every time. The rest is fine for me. Also I have to mention the very disappointing note that the knife was very dull (actually like the other 3 Shun knives I ordered recently.Real shame)
