    Not worth it

Interior finish chipped after a year. For the price it should last forever

    Great enameled cast iron kettle

Luv this kettle and the versatility of using not only for teas, but for heating liquids PROs: Heats liquid quickly, easy clean up, tea infuser included and attaches to lid CONs: No whistle (for boiling water), capacity only holds 1 quart (approximately 4 cups) Wish: capacity to increase to about 3 quarts (12 cups)

Takes forever to heat. Poor design

Wish I had sent it back. If you have all morning to wait for your water to boil then this ones for you! Handles need to be held with pot holders to pour and the drip spout is the worst design ever. I love all my Staub items with the exception of this one.

Great work horse (3-4 x daily)

I use this tea kettle 3-4 times daily. The kettle heats up very quickly (especially on induction ranges) easily supporting 2 tall tea cups of 12 oz (350 ml) each. This tea kettle is very distinctive and charming, but its VERY functional. To properly use the Tea Kettle, boil the water until a steady stream of steam vents from the spout. Fill your tea cups (1 or 2 ). Immediately after pouring the water, remove the top lid and place it on a Trivet or counter (its still cool enough to grab lid with hand). Then pour any surplus water into sink (with lid off). The cast iron kettle is still very hot ... any remaining water drops will evaporate from the heat. Voila - no clean up or pot holders needed. Please use your Staub Tea Kettle, its design to be used, it’s a workhorse.

Great work horse (3-4 x daily)

This Tea kettle not only looks great... but is a work horse. I use this kettle 3-4 times a day. It can easily hold enough of water for 2 deep tea cups 12 ounces (350ml) each. Heats up fast and can boil water quickly (especially on induction ranges). The trick as soon at it boils with a steady steam coming out... pour the water into the tea cups.. remove the lid (still cool enough to grab top knob) and rest it on a trivet. Grab the center of the kettle handles (without lid) dump the remaining water in sink... the kettle is hot enough any residual water evaporates off in seconds. HIGHLY recommend this kettle! Please use it for its intended purpose, not as a display piece.

    So cute, but not practical.

I have this in grenadine, I think it’s so cute, and water seems to boil quickly. But it ends there. It doesn’t hold much. When trying to pour, two hands are required due to the design and weight. I hold the handle and the bottom of the pot with potholders. You need to stay around to listen for the boiling water. As I mentioned it does seem to boil water quickly, but that could be because of how little it holds, and the fact the pot is cast iron. My knob has a permanent mark on it that won’t clean off or polish out. Fingerprints are definitely noticeable on the shiny exterior. You can purchase a different knob to put on it if you choose. I bought the fish one thinking my daughter would appreciate it, but I took it off as we all agreed we liked the look much better of the original knob which came with the pot. I don’t use it as much as I thought I would for tea because I’ve learned various teas need to be steeped at different temperatures, so an electric kettle serves my purposes better. But…it is cuuuute.

    We can't live without it

We absolutely love our Staub Teakettle. We have it in grenadine which is a goregous color and matches our other Staub cookware. It is the perfect size for tea and we use it almost daily. It's well balanced and it looks so nice sitting on the stove top that we never even bother to put in in the cupboard.

    GORGEOUS but impractical.

I have had this teakettle (in blue) for a few years now. I have to admit I bought it more as something beautiful to look at than to make tea with. And for that, it's PERFECT! That said, here are the major drawbacks as I see them. 1. Awkward handles that fall down a lot. The two metal handles that close over the kettle kind of awkwardly fall down a lot, exposing them to the flame or heating element. 2. The handles conduct heat very well, so if you are using a gas stove, the handle may get very hot and you need a mit to pour the water. 3.There is no line inside the kettle telling you where the max fill water line is, so you may end up boiling water that comes belching out the front without warning. 4. There is no whistle, so when boiling water, you must stay in the room and keep an eye on the kettle until the water is boiling. 5. It's cast iron so it's heavy in a way that makes in confusing as to whether there is still water in the kettle or not. 6. It's relatively small, so there's probably only enough capacity to boil two cups of water at a time. 7. It two piece design makes it a bit clunky and awkward to wash by hand. (Which I do.) So, yeah, I just felt like anyone else ogling this should have that information. Again, it really IS a beautiful piece and as a work of art, I love looking at it. I just think if I had to do it over again, I would get an attractive tea kettle that had more capacity, a heatproof handle, was lighter, and, of course, had a whistle!

    Multipurpose vessel

I first purchased this “teapot” as a sauce and gravy. Boat. Warm it up with boiling water fit 5 mins and it will provide a beautiful, functional gravy boat. I love it so much that I am purchasing a second for our holiday home where it will serve both as a teapot and as a gravy/sauce boat.
