Use & Care
Care
- To Clean Blender Base and Cord: Make sure blender is unplugged. Wipe base and cord with warm, damp cloth and dry with soft cloth.
- To Clean Blender Jar, Lid and Ingredient Cap: Remove any remaining contents from blender jar. Fill 1/3 of blender jar with warm water and add 1 drop of liquid detergent. Place lid on blender jar and make sure jar is fully in place on blender base. Turn dial to Self-Cleaning Cycle. Flip Start/Stop toggle switch up or down to start cycle. When program finishes, pour out soapy water and rinse blender jar, lid and ingredient cap with warm water.
- Blender jar is dishwasher safe. Lid, Flex Edge tamper and ingredient cap should be washed on top rack of dishwasher. They can also be hand-washed with damp cloth and soapy water.
- Handle grip can remain on handle of blender jar during cleaning and dishwasher cycles. If needed, it can be removed to run through dishwasher separately and then be re-attached.
- To avoid damage, do not immerse base or cord in water. To avoid scratching, do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads.

Falling Apart at the Seams.

I have owned this KitchenAid K400 Blender for about five years. Last week while preparing spaghetti for our 10 month new grandson, the rubber beneath the blade on the underside of the container fell apart with pieces of black rubber somehow mixing in with the pasta sauce. Fortunately, his mother found the pieces and notified me of the issue. The rubber actually came apart, but the blender did not have a burn smell or any warning of trouble. Sadly, the blender is in the trash. ---back to Cuisinart.

The perfect Blend!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) So far I am loving this blender! It's been quite some time since I've owned a blender and I don't remember them being this user friendly. I sure appreciate the preset options, it takes the guess work out of it. I've used it quite a bit since receiving it. It's easy to use and easy to clean. My iced coffee drinks and smoothies come out like silk! A recipe called for crushed tomatoes - I had diced......a few pulses in the blender and crushed tomatoes it is! I don't usually have appliances sit on my counters but this is aesthetically pleasing and used enough to warrant a permanent place. It gets confusing with all the blender makes and models on the market today, but the choice was easy. I chose KitchenAid because I believe this blender will be around for years to come.

Excellent Blender

Very powerful blender

Great blander!

For price and power, this Kitchenaid blender can’t be beat! My husband and I use this as a blender and food processor. It’s amazing. I mix smoothies and he mixes veggies for recipes. And the cleanup is no sweat. In the dishwasher it goes.

Fantastic High Quality Product!

I used the FREE engraving to write a lovely message marking the occasion and year too which was an amazing added extra. We wanted a very quiet blender (which is hard to come by) and this one certainly ticks that box. It also has a very sturdy and strong construction, not cheap and nasty like many other brands. The controls are also very simple and user friendly

However, the bottom bearing where the shaft comes through the blender bowl keeps going out. Kitchenaid has been very good about replacing with a new blender, but there is a problem here. I am now on my third blender in five years, with just normal household use.
