Shuts off half way through boiling

This is the second Capresso H20 Electric 6-Cup Glass Kettle I've purchased in two years. The first lasted about a year. This one six months. I was inclined to give the kettle a second chance because our water is very hard. I learned the Hard way that I needed to use half vinegar half water descaling at least once a week. Even so, the kettle has been shutting itself off half way through boiling for about two weeks now. Very frustrating. Also, the fake decorative "metal" on top of the lid is pealing at the edges. Unattractive, plus I don't want what I can't see falling into the water. I'm very disappointed because for the price - not the most expensive but certainly not the cheapest - I expected far better. I won't purchase a third.

I Love This Teakettle!

This is a wonderful electric teakettle. Clear glass, the cord can be stored below the stand & it has an automatic shutoff switch once the water boils. I use filtered water instead of tap water. The teakettle doesn’t have a huge footprint on the countertop.

Good size heats up quickly no plastic in boiling area

Cheap metal started rusting within two months.

I purchased this teapot because it exposed the water to the least amount of plastic and still looked good. I would like it a lot if the metal inside the pot didn’t start rusting within the first couple of months. I will give it two stars because I was satisfied with the rest of the pot’s looks and performance, but that’s all a pot with such cheap “stainless steel” that it is rusting almost right away deserves. I mean, Jeebus, the pot is designed for the metal to be covered with water!

A Kitchen Favorite!

This is the 2nd of these that I’ve purchased. We use it multiple times a day and love it. it fills easily, heats quickly, and I like its design. The handle is easy to grasp and it stays cool when you’re ready to pour.

Enjoy using this but it has limitations

Top is rather small opening. Hard to pour water into but works fine at sink faucet. I wanted to use it at refrigerator door for filtered water but hard to position there. No alarm when water has boiled. Also hard to tell when it is on. I accidentally turned it on when replacing carafe onto heating element. Handle is not ideal place for on off switch. Did not realize it was going because pilot light does not glow in obvious way. It is attractive, lightweight, and I like being able to visually check how much water is in the carafe.

Ordered 2 for a tea party. They are wonderful. Would highly recommend. Worth the $$

Plastic smell and taste

The heating element is made from some sort of plastic that adds its chemical taste to the water. Disgusting and, I suspect, bad for your health!
