Overly complicated and stop working after three mo

I wanted to treat myself to a new coffee maker, asked a local store associate for their recommendation and the Aiden Fellow was recommended. The machine worked all right for three months then one morning had an error message to add more water when it was full of Water. I tried troubleshooting to try to get it work, after having to download an app register the machine and get the latest version update which took 24 hours still not able to fix the problem. This machine left me without coffee for several days (not good). This Machine is overly complicated and can’t do its simple purpose of making coffee. I regret this purchase, a big waste of money!!!! Good thing that I kept my old cheap machine that was in the garage!

Such good coffee!

There is a learning curve to this coffee maker but oh my gosh it makes the best coffee ever. I purchased it along with the scale and the gen 2 coffee grinder. I do wish the book would have a little more info. I had to go to all the videos to find out how many grams max each filter holds and for other tips so I find myself running back and forth to the videos. A little more info at your fingertips would be nice. I make myself a single serve every morning with the max in the filter and get about 20 ounces. It makes a great cold brew too, and in a few hours you can have it, no waiting overnight for the bags to brew. I have used the app to set up a stronger cold brew as it is faster than going through the controls. But so far so good, I am very happy I bought this system!

Coffee needs to stay hotter!

Love this coffee maker, but they HAVE to add a feature to keep the coffee hotter and for longer.

Optimized Coffee

Great product - looks nice and many great features. Water tank could be bigger. Interface and be a little tricky, but got the hang quickly. We had this for a year and love it. However, it broke after about a year. I followed all the instructions to diagnose and fix but it was broken. Fellow sent a replacement very quickly. Grateful to them for making it easy on me, however feels wasteful.

Great coffee

Motivated by the design, but convinced by the quality of the coffee. The machine is sleek and brews exceptional quality coffee. However, the quality of the coffee increased exponentially when I started using the Fellow Opus grinder! I was very skeptical that a grinder would really make any difference, but it did. Using the same beans before and after having the Fellow equipment was night and day. Highly recommend. Only point of criticism is that the Fellow Aiden does not keep the coffee warm; the pot is insulated, which will hold heat to a point, but the plate is not heated (more of an FYI than a complaint).

Amazing coffee but with a few caveats

Makes an amazing cup of coffee, with flexibility to program how many pulses of water, pauses in between, temperatures, altitude (which impacts boil temp), and more. Took care of my old single pulse machine overflowing the grounds basket all the time! The carafe did not hold temp as well as my old machine, but dropping 3 degrees or so every 15 minutes, finishing at 148F at 90 minutes after brewing, is acceptable. The user interface is somewhat oddly engineered which makes the learning curve a little steep. All controls are buried in menus on a daisy wheel or accessible by a glitchy phone app, and the digital keyboard on the machine has all non-text keys to the left, except backspace which is all the way to the right, making for a lot of paging around during programming. Scheduling a drip involves specifying a coffee "finished time" not "start brewing," which is odd. What would be a nice feature is some light inside the dark cavern where I place my cup for a pour over. But none of those little things are deal breakers. Just taking time, reading and watching a few videos takes care of it.

Barista Quality Coffee

This coffee maker makes the BEST coffee! Like Barista quality in your house!! My first Aiden stopped working (the pump failed) and Fellows replaced it immediately with a version that had obvioulsy been upgraded in the problem area.

Glad I bought it!

I bought this a few weeks ago because I wanted to be able to make better tasting coffee. So far, it has proven to make a better tasting brew - more flavorful and a smoother taste than from my previous coffee maker. Also, I really like the computerized guidelines. Glad I made the investment.

Good Single Cup/Small Batch Brewer

I’ll start off by saying in terms of a single-cup automatic brewer, this is the best I’ve ever used. The guided brew function makes it easy to ensure you’re using the right amount of coffee for optimal output. That said, when it comes to larger batch brewing, that’s where I’ve encountered problems. The amount of ground coffee per the guided brew function for larger batches can exceed the capacity of the basket, causing grounds to overflow the filter and make contact with the shower head. I’m using a Fellow Opus to grind at recommended settings for drip, but it would be nice if I could specify that in the configuration to have grind settings included in the guided brewing process. With so much plastic, I was concerned about build quality, but everything seems solid and built to acceptable tolerances. The carafe does a good job of holding the coffee at a good temperature without the use of a heating element that can cause undesirable effects on the brewed coffee. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but I think there’s definitely room for improvement in a second generation model.

Great finish result

First - heck of a great cup of coffee - my unit did not heat consistently but a replacement is on the way. The interface is not very intuitive plus if a human is not versed in coffee brewing vocabulary (bloom - pulse as an example) and timings and ratios will be really lost in the weeds. There is no real robust knowledge base on the web site not are the videos very encompassing.
