Pretty Pot

Great Mokapot! Yes, there are cheaper ones available, but this one is beautiful. Every time I look at it, it makes me happy. We have all sorts of coffee machines and contraptions. The Mokapot is different from doing French Press or making an espresso pot. You need to get the right grind. We use a fellows scale for the correct bean to water ratio. We also grind finer than drip, but courser than espresso. If you aren’t obsessive about doing your own grinding, find ground beans specifically for a Mokapot to get the best results. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and it makes a tasty pot of coffee.

I LOVE this Moka Pot! I used one in Venice this March and decided I had to have one. This makes me feel like I'm still in Italy and it brews the best tasting espresso!!!

Almost unusable

I love the design on this percolator and for a week it was a joy to make coffee. Unfortunately, there is something wrong with its manufacturing that’s deforming it into nearly unusable. It’s extremely difficult to unscrew after use to clean, with multiple strong and athletic people in the house having to join forces to get it apart. If we were to attach the pieces any looser, the water leaks out of the side. The threads are perfectly clean when we attach. When detaching, it’s very difficult to put enough force on the reservoirs while avoiding the handle. The lid also doesn’t sit properly anymore. I’m not sure if the manufacturer has started using cheaper metals that expand and contract enough to alter the design, but it’s unacceptable for such an expensive percolator.

Weekend Espresso

Charming blue stovetop espresso maker. I love the blue color on this espresso maker. I keep it on a shelf in my kitchen and get tons of compliments. It also, makes great espresso!
