    Fashion over function

Looks beautiful but Handle is hot. I was really disappointed, figured no one would design a kettle that had a handle that got hot. Guess I was wrong…

    Great on induction stove

I use this on an induction stove and the handle does not get hot by the time the water boils. The water is about 3/4 to the black line limit, so almost full. After 10 minutes, I'll reboil the water and at that point the handle is slightly warm. But I never have to use a hot pad.

Item was shipped UPS - no notice at any time that WS does not ship to PO Boxes. I actually received (2) emails informing me that the item had arrived.

    Form Should Follow Function

This teapot is a beautiful design for looks. However it does not function in an effective way, and could be considered dangerous. PROBLEMS WITH FUNCTIONAL DESIGN - Two hands are needed to use this teapot - one hand to hold the handle/the other hand to open the spout. - Neither handle nor spout have any heat protection covering, so operating this needs a pot holder, or a mitt in each hand - or requires two separate operations with single pot holder or mitt. In a busy kitchen (or even a quiet kitchen), dealing with this double requirement is annoying, at least and a waste of time during other kitchen or entertaining activities. - As a designer, I suggest W-S go back to the drawing board with this beautiful shape - take some cues from other well-functioning designs that require only one hand to lift, open the spout and pour ,without the need for a mitt. And come up with a design that your executives could use with one hand. - The old Calphalon, no longer available, has been functioning beautifully in our kitchen for over 20 years. SIngle protected handle, and thumb-pull to open the spout at the same time. -We bought the W-S for our kids, both designers, too, because it truly is beautiful; but when I looked at the functionality, it was clear the risk of getting burned was too high, and they would also waste time and energy in their busy kitchen for something that should be a super-simple activity. Not Your Grannie's Tea Kettle.

This tea kettle is sleek and functional. It heats water quickly, and there is a mesh screen in the spout to prevent splashing. My only criticism is that the whistle is ear-splitting, so don't get too far away from it when you're boiling water.

    hot, hot, hot - beware

The handle get's way too hot, so we will have to wrap it in cord in order to be able to use. awkward for elderly.

    perfect

I make herbal infusions by the quart every day, this kettle is the best! Boils up fast and there is enough for a pour over coffee. The old 2 qt saucepan has nothing on this beauty! Love the whistle too!

    Pleased with purchase.

Walked into Williams & Sonoma to choose a kettle. Best value and function, we chose this one. Out of stock, they ordered it for us. Kettle arrived in perfect condition. It has the features we wanted, very nice quality. For prospective buyers, the handle does get hot and needs a pot holder to remove from stove. Would buy again.
