    Missing Part

This is my second tea kettle. My former one lasted 25 years. The new one seems similar. I noticed the handle was a little unstable. It was missing a nut and the missing nut was rolling around inside the kettle. I tightened it up and it worked fine for me.

    Not a lifetime buy

I bought this kettle in 2022 thinking it was a lifetime investment. But over the last year, rust has started to crop up around the bolts on the exterior, the whistling mechanism has started to stick and fail to whistle, and I've discovered pit marks on the inside of the kettle. This is not an issue with care, it was emptied out and dried out consistently. I'm so disappointed.

    Its fantastic.

It is as beautiful as one would expect. With a little care this kettle could last lifetimes and be handed down for generations.

    Simplex Kensington Tea Kettle

I ruined my last Simplex tea kettle and tried to get by with another tea pot that I currently had, but I missed having this one and finally decided to get another.....I'm so happy that I did, now my life is back to normal! I LOVE this Tea Kettle!!! However, the cost is a bit extravagant, but using reward points helped me make the decision.

Defective Newey & Bloomer Tea Kettles

Newey & Bloomer has been knowingly manufacturing & distributing defective Simplex Kensington & Buckingham Tea Kettle's for some time now These kettles are supposed to last for over 30 years but the current batches start pitting on the inside bottom and begin to peel in spots within weeks. Newey & Bloomer is aware of it but has kept quiet while searching for a new supplier. I have an email confirmation from them acknowledging the issue. I have to assume Williams Sonoma is aware of it too. Newey & Bloomer has a new supplier and begun shipping new batches from them but all the old stock and what you've been selling to customers is defective and should not be sold. Your current inventory (as of 11/09/2023) of Simplex Kensington1 & 3 Kettles and Simplex Buckingham 1 & 3 Kettles are defective and should not be sold.

    Bougie, functional, elegant, noisy

This is no doubt an elegant style kettle, however, it has a weird ball stopper thing in it that always clings and clanks, which is super annoying. Also, it has a very large base, if they made a petite version it would be perfect! I switched over to this brand because my le Creuset kettles were rusting, I definitely preferred the styling of the le Creuset kettles. Overall, it’s really expensive and more of a bougie purchase than necessity. If it lasts, and does not rust, it will be worth it. Time will tell.

Hot Handle - beware to avoid burning hands

I have owned my tea kettle for years. I take care of it and ensure it looks brand new. Just recently my handle started to get very hot that I need to use a mitt. The screws that keep the black handle in place get lose and I tighten them. I don’t want to return kettle. I only need a replacement black handle. I have reached out to customer service and really got no where. All I ask for was replacement handle (I am willing to buy it) and unfortunately I do not have copy of receipt because my mom bought it for me at the store and my mom passed away. Has anyone else notice the handle getting very hot? The company offered 10% purchase of a new one but really? I just need a new handle to replace the one that burns my hand if I grab it.

    Owned for 30 plus years!

I have owned this kettle for more than 30 years. It have worked flawlessly everyday. It's music to my ears to hear the whistle go off. Tea time! There is some natural wear on the handle paint color which makes it more charmingly appealing to me. Still have a beautiful shiny finish. It cleans up nicely and looks great displayed on my stove. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again but, I'm sure it'll last for life. It's my cup of tea!

    Buyer Beware!

I received the Simplex kettle March, 20, 2021. Exactly one week later, the inside lining started to show signs of pitting and corrosion! The kettle was emptied and hand-dried every night, so proper care is not the issue (regardless, the pitting shouldn't have occurred in such a short period of time). I have been advised that I can exchange the kettle, but I will have to wait 5-6 months for a replacement! What a totally disappointing transaction, especially when considering the price! I will wind-up returning the item for a full refund. So much for "Old World Craftmanship"!
