Form and function

Beautiful design but not a lot of functionality for the price. It was the only small electric tea pot.

Perfect Pop of Color!

I bought this in red and could not love it more! It works great and adds a beautiful pop of color to my white kitchen! I have never spent this much on a kettle, but it is definitely worth it since I use it so much.

Complete Waste

This works fine, but it is SO cheaply made. It's incredibly disappointing for the brand. I've always known Smeg to be well made and good materials, but this is cheap plastic and it's clear up close how cheap it is. No real metal, just plastic. What a waste of money.

Perfect size for about 3 cups. Takes up Less room on my counter but makes a great statement. Boils super fast. Well designed

Great with a Drawback

The SMEG Mini Kettle is an attractive addition to my kitchen. It heats water very quickly, and I love the automatic shutoff. Unfortunately, it is surprisingly difficult to open the lid to put in water - this is a big pain since I drink several cups of tea daily.

Poor knob construction

I love my other Smeg products but this one has failed me twice. I got the mini kettle and within 3 months the knob broke off: it sits in this small plastic housing tube, and the plastic housing just snapped so the knob fell out. I thought it could be been a one-off so I got another one. The same thing happened but in 6 months. I’m not especially fast or rough with my appliances so I don’t think it’s just me. For this price point, it’s a poor purchase despite how pretty it is. In the meantime, I’ve been manually inserting the knob and turning it on, like a key.
