    Use & Care

    Use

    • Do not use water to extinguish oven fire as this can cause damage and personal injury.
    • After each use, allow oven to burn through any remaining solid fuels.
    • Make sure oven is completely cool before moving or storing.

    Care

    • Let oven cool naturally before cleaning. This can take up to 60 minutes, depending on ambient temperature. Do not use water to cool oven as this can cause damage and personal injury.
    • We recommend storing oven indoors, especially during inclement weather.
    • If oven is stored outdoors, use the Ooni Karu Carry Cover (sold separately) to keep it dry and protect it from debris.
    • To clean interior: Run oven at highest temperature for 30 minutes to burn off excess food. Once cool, wipe down with dry paper towels.
    • To clean exterior: Once cool, wipe down with damp cloth. Dry completely. Use stainless-steel cleaner to remove marks and smudges. Avoid using abrasive cleaning products and harsh chemicals.
    • To clean stone baking board: Allow oven to cool completely, then flip board over. The oven's high temperatures will clean the underside of the board during the next cook. Board is not dishwasher safe. Do not clean with dishwashing liquid.

Love the Karu. Previously had the Fyra and changed to the Karu. Easily gets to 500 degrees, and maintains the heat well with the dual fuel option. Easy to get the flames going if they die down. I’d recommend it.

Poor design and company never responds

I wrote a review over a week ago about the faulty design of the rear leg collapsing and my Omni 12 falling and toppling over while cooking thus causing the pizza to stick and burn to the top of the oven, breaking the stone, ( which I had to order a new one) causing scratching and marks on the oven. Not to mention the embarrassing situation in front of friends and family. Or the possibility of an explosion from falling off the table upside down while still cooking? Seems like the company just does not care !

    Poor design

Very upset and un impressed! This is my fourth time using the Ooni 12 after have only used in trying to perfect my technique before inviting friends over to enjoy this great little invention! We made the dough from your receipt (which is excellent, after experimenting with others, which ours, yours is great!) So we roll out the three pies we had planned on having. The first was Gorgonzola, and fresh figs. It was really tasty. Then our second of Gorgonzola, prosciutto, and figs looked fantastic,…. . "? Until, as I was turning the pie with the small peel, ALL OF A SUDDEN, the rear leg folded under and the oven, and the entire oven toppled over backwards fell off the table, tumbled upside down, over onto the patio still attached to the gas tank (Thought it was going to Explode! ) Needless to say the stone fell out and broke! Meanwhile, the pizza is cooking onto the “inside”roof of the oven !) Do you think I felt embarrassed! ? So today I tried to clean up the mess. I had to use the scraper on the inside roof of the oven since it fell, upside down and burned to the inside top! In addition now the whole top has lots of scratches in the paint! It looks terrible. So I must tell you that I am not impressed with the design on this collapsible leg makes this very dangerous.

    Awesome little oven!

This is a fantastic little powerhouse of an oven! I took it camping last weekend, and this oven produced some outstanding pizzas for me and my campmates. I was surprised how little wood it takes compared to my full sized wood fired oven, but it got just as hot and produced the same level of pizza. This thing is amazing. 5 pepperonis!

    Absolutely horrible

Who ever said this was a good oven, lied. It's absolute crap. Have had it a year or two and tried using it 5 or 6 time. Never. I mean never, havr we had it successfully heat up. I am a cook and a pellet cook. This is about the worst kitchen appliance I have purchased ever.

    Still learning

We are still learning- finding that you MUST own a thermometer and I didn’t realize that so buying one. Hoping this will help our issues.

This was our replacement for the Fyra. We were dubious about switching from wood pellets to either charcoal or wood. We needn’t have been! So simple to use, looks incredible. We are delighted with it.

    Love it

Love it. Still learning to make the perfect pizza but easy to handle. First try on gas was pretty ok. Now testing the wood option and it goes fast to the good temperature. Love it for now
