The Third Time’s A Charm

I purchased the De’Longhi Magnifica Evo because I loved my previous De’Longhi purchased in 2011, which operated seamlessly for ten years with only minor maintenance. After purchasing this model I was concerned and disappointed that quality had been sacrificed after the machine repeatedly disengaged the milk carafe. When the milk carafe is attached to the machine a sensor beeps to signal that a connection has been made, prompting the user to select a milk-based coffee drink from the menu. My machine, however, would more often than not beep again after the initial contact beep, disconnecting the milk carafe from the frothing function. Consequently, the program would loop back to prompt me to attach the milk carafe—even though it had already been fully attached. This occurred repeatedly in the first two weeks, so I returned it to Williams-Sonoma where it was purchased in exchange for another Magnicia Evo, which when opened was damaged. I then exchanged it for a third one which, so far, is operating fine and, as importantly, makes very good espresso drinks.

Just buy it already!

I am so happy with this purchase. I have researched 1-touch coffee machines for over a year before I zero'ed in on the EVO Next. Easy to use, clean, and not too loud. The milk carafe is so nice too!

You will be glad you upgraded

We originally purchased the Magnifica EVO with 7 drink options. We have this model in our vacation home. It works very well and makes better coffee than our last Jura model IMHO. We needed a new coffeemaker at home, so we went to WS for another. The 7 drink model was unavailable, so we ended up upgrading to this model. This model really is so much better! Mainly, it is more user friendly. Easier to set up (the screen gives step by step instructions with pictures) and easy for guests to use. The machine does all the grinding and tamping for you, so say goodbye to coffeebeans and grinds on your countertop. There is a top tray for whole beans, and a separate lid to use ground coffee. The spout self cleans after use. There is a drip tray, but I bought a small glass butter dish cover and leave the upside down lid on the machine tray for easy catch & clean. To refill the water compartment, simply slide it halfway out- it does not need to be removed completely, which eliminates water spills on the counter. I am a repeat buyer, having owned a De'Longhi Rialta that provided many years of service. That machine required service over a year ago and it was somewhat rebuilt by De"Longhi but eventually it needed to be replaced. The service center noted it had made over 12000 coffee beverages. This new magnifica Evo shares many features of the older Rialta but with great improvements. The milk frother is very much improved and quick to use and also clean. The graphic interface at the top of the maching makes a great pro look. It is perfect out of the box but you can make many adjustments with coarseness of the grind, volume levels, and flavor/aroma intensity. If ther is a negative it would be that the maching is a bit noisy.

We took this machine to our Lake House and the family thoroughly Enjoyed it the first time. everybody really enjoyed the coffee. It worked well the second time also. The sensor was always sensitive to when we tried to add the frothing part to the machine and we’d have to put it in multiple times before it accepted it. Then after the third time we could not get the sensors to work because it continued to tell us that we needed to dump our grounds and our water. When I finally opened it, I found some parts had fallen off. So after two uses, we had to return the machine. They were very gracious to give us a credit towards a different machine, but it was very disappointing, nonetheless.

Since I both this machine I like it only the grounding noise is little louder. Compared to Phillips one.Other than that it’s a good machine.
