    Second Machine!

I had my first barista express, and it lasted seven years! I’ve easily made over 5000 drinks on this machine until it started shorting out because of some kind of leak inside. Breville give me a heavy discount on another machine so I bought it instantly. Fantastic Machine and I will continue to buy them.

    Never gets to espresso range

Never gets to espresso range. I’ve tried everything from descaling, cleaning throughly, using different beans, different grind settings. Just never gets to range or it brews legit less than 1/2 and ounce of espresso.

Old and new, I liked the old one

I have been disappointed with this espresso machine. I have been using it for about 3 weeks. My old Breville Barista Express Espresso machine died after ten years of good use. This new one is not the same quality as the first one. I am sorry that the company has not done as good a job as before.

    Long-Term Analysis

We looked forward to our morning coffee and told our friends how much we loved this machine for a few years, that is until the gasket needed replacing. It was not hard to do. We tried Breville brand and Amazon knock-offs. It has a severe design flaw that many users have encountered and replacing the gasket won't fix it. We read screws commonly get lose and are impossible to access. The result is having hot water sputtering and spewing all over the place and not extracting the grinds. I really did enjoy the Barista Express while it worked, but it is so frustrating after making an investment purchase, that the investment was not long enough. If Youtube is any indication, it is a very common problem. You'll want to read reviews from customers who have had the espresso maker for a few years and not just a few months. It was wonderful espresso until the gasket wore out. I recommend the Breville design team work on increasing the durability of their already great machines before focusing on new features.

    I hate this machine

This machine is a hassle to maintain. I despise changing out the rubber gasket. The descaling light does not go off after a cleaning cycle. I wish I had loosened the purse strings and gone fully automatic.

    Poor machine

The machine wasn’t working properly. It started leaking from the water tank side, which made it messy and hard to use. Definitely disappointing considering the price.

    New Barista Express machine

It's been a few weeks using the new Barista Express. I've used a similar Breville machine that lasted over 15 years without being serviced. But, this new Barista Express runs well. I like the built in grinder that's not to loud. When I do 2 shots...the machine is a bit louder than I would have expected, but it doesn't wake anyone up...lol :-)

    Best machine

We originally bought this machine 11 years ago and used it every day (sometimes multiple times a day). Only needed to get it serviced once in the 11 years. One of the internal components on that machine recently died and instead of getting it fixed we decided to purchase a new one. After tons of research, nothing else in the market compared to the simplicity and quality of this machine. We absolutely love it!
