    A Faux-Stainless Fiasco

The Zwilling Efigny is less a toaster than a countertop SUV. It hogs space like it’s squatting rent-free in your kitchen, yet still manages to toast with all the excitement of a beige filing cabinet. The “faux stainless” exterior is plastic in metallic drag, the kind of finish that would embarrass even a budget blender. Sure, it browns bread, but so does a campfire. If you want to spend extra for the illusion of premium, this is your toaster. If you want actual stainless steel, look elsewhere.

    Perfect

Bought because it’s nontoxic, I emailed them and it’s BPA, PFAS, formaldehyde, and lead free. Absolutely love how my husband and I can make 4 toasts at once for breakfast and it toasts wonderfully everytime.

    Performance

Although I love this design and the countertop space savings, the toast does not brown evenly. The edges crisp to black, while the center is toasted to the requested setting.

Broke after two months of use

From the beginning this toaster had uneven browning and it took several tries to get the lever to stay down. After two months of use the lever doesn’t stay down at all and even if it’s held down manually the toaster doesn’t heat up.

    So far so good!

After several weeks of use, I'm happy with this choice. It looks great, which is good because it's pretty big and not easily tucked away. With the pop-out base, it's super easy to keep clean, and I think that will add to its longevity. The cord location does need reworking - not quite sure why they designed it to come out in the front of the toaster. But as far as the entire reason for a toaster, it seems to actually toast pretty well. I make bread pretty regularly, so having the longer length (allowing for two pieces of regular sized bread or one extra long slice on each side) is a nice bonus.

    Stopped working after 2 years

Don’t buy. Thought it would last, but suddenly died after 2 years. For $165 I thought it would be better. Now it’s an expensive piece of junk.

Idk, my 15 yr old toasted did better.

Weak power, larger than it should be - can’t return

    This monster makes great toast

Does a great job evenly toasting bread. Bread toasts quickly. Saves time and keeps the inside of the bread tender under the crisp, toasted surface. Electrical plug is straight rather than flat, so the cord projects vertically from the wall. This pushes the toaster far from the wall into my counter work space. Easily fixed Zwilling... Toaster is too large. Much larger than my prior long slot, 4 slice toaster. Even the height is an inch higher than my old toaster. Smaller would be better. The spring in the handle is too strong. It takes a lot of force to push the toast down. Love the cancel button in the middle of the adjustment knob.

    I like this toaster

After buying, and returning, 2 other brand of toasters I finally found one that just makes crispy toast with a soft center. I like this toaster.

    Good for homemade bread

I make homemade bread in a variety of flour types and shapes. None of them fit in traditional toaster, so a long slot was the only option. Also, most commercial toasters cannot toast homemade bread in one go. This toaster does, although it takes a setting around 6 to do so. It leaves the outside crisp with the inside soft and not dried out. The heating is fairly even but slightly warmer on the outside heating elements than the inside. Overall, I am pleased with this toaster.
