    Summary

Made by Japan's leading blade manufacturer, this cutting board protects the finest cutlery and helps keep your knives sharp for years to come. The board is made of Hinoki, a medium-soft wood that adeptly conceals minor cuts and scratches.

    • Hinoki wood, or Japanese cypress, has natural antibacterial properties that make it ideal for kitchen prep work.
    • The straight, subtle grain of Hinoki makes this stain-resistant board attractive enough for use at the table as well as in the kitchen.
    • Hinoki wood is resistant to rotting and fungus growth, and has a naturally fresh citrus fragrance.
    • Ideal cutting board for protecting the razor-sharpness of Shun knives.
    • Made in Japan.

    Dimensions & More Info

    Use & Care

    Use

    • Board should be seasoned with a food-grade mineral oil before first use.
    • To season the board properly, warm the mineral oil slightly and apply it in the direction of the wood grain using a clean, dry cloth. Allow the oil to soak in and repeat with another application. Allow the board to dry and wipe off any excess oil.

    Care

    • Hand-wash with hot, soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
    • Do not soak or submerge board in water.
    • Occasionally rub with a food-safe mineral oil to keep wood from drying out.
    • To sanitize, wash the board with a solution of one part vinegar to five parts water.
    • Remove odors by rubbing the board with kosher or table salt and half a lemon. Let sit for 2 to 3 minutes then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Remove excess moisture with a clean paper towel and stand the board on end to air dry.
    • Store in a dry area away from extreme temperatures.

    Love almost everything

I love this cutting board. I have followed the care instructions meticulously but there is a small bump that has formed. My biggest reason for giving 3 stars is I ordered it in February with an anticipated 6 week delivery and I received it in August. No explanation given. Way before any tariffs

    Love This Board!

I love this board. Its light weight and has a pleasant lemon smell to the wood. The lemon scent does not permeate into food being chopped. If you wet it before use, as directed, it does not stain.

Does the job; not great, now awful either- meh.

Was looking for a smaller and thinner cutting board. Something to use that’s easy to handle and store for everyday use (to go with a heavier duty, sealed, welled, heavy, hard to store cutting board). This one fit the bill when u was over the plastic cutting boards, and was also decently priced. Took a few months to actually arrive and find the quality okay- not bad, not great either. This one is very light, thin, unfinished, but also very soft. Was recommended always both use it damp and (of course) hand wash it, so we have; but, it’s already got lots of cut marks, dents, and discoloration after 2 uses. Took ann extra step of using high quality wax to seal overnight and then followed by an overnight board oil- and that didn’t make a difference in terms of wear and tear. I still think it’s better than the plastic cutting boards but seeing all the marks after a couple uses (and babying it exactly per instructions), makes me wonder how many wood shreddings we’ve already consuming lol (still better than plastic, but weirdly off putting none the less).

    Thousand year wood sounds good

Great looking cutting board. A pleasant smell. I bought the special oil from the company, but mineral oil would work. I'm purging the house of plastic cutting boards. I plan on using it daily for mostly vegetables, I'll use my old hardwood board for meets. I needed to put none slip water resistant pads underneath for slippage. (Maybe a towel?)

    High end thin cutting board

Excellent, lightweight, thin, smells good, keeps knives sharp

    Too soft for sharp knives

This cutting board is not "medium soft", it's extremely soft. It is all too easily cut if using sharp knives, and it leaves small splinters of wood by the cuts.

Perfect size and weight - sturdy and easy to use

Lightweight but sturdy and a great size. Just what I needed. It does pick up color stains from food, but they aren't durable and seem to fade over time. I tried wetting the board before each use as recommended, but that didn't seem to help much. And the color stains don't bother me for my workhorse cutting board - which is what this one is. Glad I bought it.
