    Summary

An exceptionally hard cutting board provides a stable work surface and also helps protect finely honed blades. Sturdy construction – with the edge grain creating the work surface – gives this board a commercial-quality toughness to withstand years of use.

    • Crafted from sustainably harvested North American walnut.
    • Edge-grain construction holds up to years of slicing and chopping.
    • Made by John Boos & Co., the leading manufacturer of butcher blocks and a staple of the commercial cooking industry since 1887.

    Use & Care

    Use

    • Board should be seasoned with food-grade mineral oil before first use.
    • To season board properly, warm mineral oil slightly and apply in direction of wood grain using clean, dry cloth. Allow oil to soak in and repeat with another application. Allow board to dry and wipe off any excess oil.

    Care

    • Hand-wash with hot, soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
    • Do not soak or submerge board in water.
    • Occasionally rub with food-safe mineral oil to keep wood from drying out.
    • To sanitize, wash board with solution of one part vinegar to five parts water.
    • Remove odors by rubbing board with kosher or table salt and half a lemon. Let sit for 2 to 3 minutes then wipe clean with damp cloth. Remove excess moisture with clean paper towel, and stand board on end to air-dry.
    • Store in dry area away from extreme temperatures.

    Boos Walnut Board

I love the board. It is really beautiful and looks great on the kitchen counter. I have another walnut cutting board by a different manufacturer and a knife leaves marks. This one is different and doesn’t show any cutting. Perhaps over time this will change. I have had Boos boards before and know that oiling at least once a week over night is a key to keeping it in good shape.

Nice but why is this so expensive

Overpriced. Should at least have come with maintenance oil

    Excellent.

Great board, looks sharp, heavy and stable. Large enough for prep.

    Love it

Love this all natural board. It’s a sturdy workhorse

    Beware.

The board had a terrible finish to it. I can feel the fiber of the wood raised against my hand, as if it was poorly sanded. For 300 dollars you’d expect a very fine finish on the wood, this is not it. No one returned my calls or emails on the matter, so I guess I’m stuck. Beware.

    Beautiful cutting board!

Beautiful cutting board! Get the Boos conditioners and edible mineral wax. They have all three liquid products in store.

    Disappointment

As soon as I opened the box I was really disappointed. I had very high expectations. The cutting board should be packaged to please the recipient and packaged like a luxury product... They wrap it in plastic wrap as if it came from the factory, and the oil is sent in a box with the tube cap broken... This is my first transaction. It's like this. . Do you provide hospitality to your guests? I feel bad. I don't feel well. I don't really like wooden cutting boards. It would be better to order from Korea. It really compares.

    Functional cutting board

This is a good, thick cutting board, so it does not slide around on the counter. The side handles make it easy to pick up off the counter.

    Cutting board

The cutting board was not the right size but dealing with their customer service was worst. They were rude both times and accused me of not looking carefully at product description. I was surcharged extra for this product but wasn’t informed until the payment was going thru and no way to stop it. When I brought this up the lady on the phone basically called me a liar. I was refunded for the cutting board but they still charged me for the very expensive shipment which was around $40 dollars for this cutting board. For being such a big company I’m still taken back by how they address their customers. I saw their better business bureau had a F rating and I read some of their complaints and it was mostly about their customer service. You can get the same product somewhere else and not deal with their lack of professionalism. Will not be purchasing their products again.
