Destroyed my kitchen wall

Absolute crap product. A 10 year old could write better assembly instructions. The plastic anchor mount created a silver dollar sized crater in my kitchen wall and I have to abandon my plan to place it where I wanted it. This will now require a huge patch and repainting. Ever since these corporate wizards took over this company, everything has been sourced from crap suppliers and is wildly overpriced.

Do not but, design is flawed

The spacers are absolutely useless and the instructions are terrible. Impossible to install securely. I had to throw away mine, waste of money.

Arrived broken but it was an easy fix.

I loved the piece and it looks beautiful in our kitchen. Unfortunately, it arrived broken (the wood piece on the end had broken so I had to glue it back together) but it was an easy fix. I also used Command strips to attach it to the wall as I didn't want to leave hole in my wall. It works great even with 5 heavy knives on it.

ridiculous spacers

the wood is beautiful, and the magnet is strong. however, the mounting hardware is absolutely useless. the spacer is far too long for the screws to reach the wall for secure mounting, and as a result the whole thing is very wobbly and just pulls off the wall when a knife is removed. i had to throw out the spacers and reconfigure using multiple washers instead. someone needs to have a talk with their industrial designer.

Disastrously bad design. DO NOT BUY!!

DO NOT BUY THIS KNIFE RACK!! It is terribly designed — shocking from Williams Sonoma. The mounting materials provided are like none I have ever seen before (huge screw-in anchors that required me to drill very large holes in the wall to get them in). Above all, the design is fatally flawed: it is designed to be mounted so it is separated from the wall by large metal studs. This looks terrible, but also the knife rack wobbles every time you take off a knife. I am throwing this away (and it wasn’t cheap) and buying a replacement from Misen that looks much better designed. Also, there is no indication the knife rack will not be flush to the wall when you buy it, and the mounting instructions are terribly vague and impossible to understand. Williams Sonoma should not sell this product anymore. I am furious that I ruined a beautiful wall for this. What a waste of time and money.

Could not mount this knife rack. The screws are not long enough and a bit too small to secure the metal plate to the wall.

Heavier Duty Magnet Needed

Love most products from Williams Sonoma, but this was a miss. The magnetic strip barely held our knives, so we returned.

Instructions insufficient for use

Bought this months ago and first tried mounting it with super strong 3M Tape as to not engage in light construction in my kitchen. However, because of the thin backing on the block, this failed. Have been perplexed by the metal cylinder wrap around for the screw - why would I potentially need this? I have never seen parts like this before. Only through the help of the comments section and clear descriptions by others did I come to understand that this metal cylinder will make the knife rack NOT FLUSH with your wall. If this is what you seek, mazel. If not, it would have been more helpful to know before purchasing, as I will now throw this out. WS - you need an installation video of this product linked clearly with the product description.
