Best Knife ever!

Favorite knife ever (that's not a chef's knife). The Shape, size, curve at the top are perfect for anything from sandwiches to tomatoes. Can't recommend highly enough!

My favorite knife

I bought this Shun knife after reading Martina Navratilova rave about it on Twitter. I loved it so much I bought the same knife for my sister and had it engraved for her, she loves it. It's my very favorite out of all my kitchen knives, you won't be disappointed!

Buyer Beware when buying on WS

Buyer Beware in regards to William Sonoma Oct 8 2024! I will note that this is an old post. However, William Sonoma is still doing it. I ordered two Shun knives for my son (30 years old), who lives at my house in Ohio while I'm out of the country. I could have chosen Amazon, but I wanted the WS box and gift wrapping—neither of which were present when received. It was a massive box with no WS name or gift wrapping. He returned the knives within the first two days for something he'd prefer from a different store. No problem... a month after they received the knives - we're still trying to get a refund, and they will only provide an e-merchandise card - which isn't active. Before the return, he and I called to verify that the money would be returned to my credit card. These calls should be recorded. Both stated the funds would be returned to my card. So, being a mother, I Paypal'd him the money to buy the gift he wanted. I received no correspondence from WS, nothing regarding the item being received, and nothing regarding the e-merchandise card. So I called them, and after three calls and two hang-ups, the customer service rep insisted it could only be a merchandise card. After arguing, I said fine. Could you send me a screenshot of your email with the e-merchandise card? There was none, so she regenerated it. After 2 hours, they finally got an email about producing the e-merchandise card. Remember, I was having this sent to my home and only asked for gift wrapping. However, because I checked that gift-wrapping box, therefore it was a gift being returned, and the funds could not be returned to my CC. To boot, the e-merchandise card isn't active. Businesses do this right before they fail. They need to hang onto every dollar they can get their hands on... Buyer Beware!

Hardworking and Oh so much fun!

Incredible precision, comfortable to hold and perfect for many tasks from slicing bread and large tomatoes to making sandwiches. This unique knife is quickly becoming on of my favorite things in the kitchen!

The knife I didn’t know I needed.

This is a great all purpose knife. It cuts through vegetables, especially great with bell peppers, and fruits with ease. It’s a great shape for spreads on bread. I was surprised at how well it cut through a variety of cheeses and meats. It won’t replace my chef’s knife but it’s a good addition to my knife set.

We have had this knife for a few months now, and everyone here remarks on how much they like it! You will be the boss of any crusty loaf, making short, satisfying work, and getting to the good part: EATING! It is lightweight and sharp! We bought it on a whim, wondering about the odd shape and if it would be a dud. We are happy to report we are buying another for our daughter to kit her out with a proper sandwich knife, so she too, can be the hostess with the mostest! Truly a great knife, the shape really helps you cut completely through. A pleasure to own.
