    Cracks in bottom

    This block came with 2 large cracks in the bottom and for some reason it wasn’t returnable. You can’t see the cracks when it’s in the drawer, so I was ok with it, but it felt like poor quality control. I liked that it is a smaller knife block, perfect size for my small, old house kitchen.

    Nice but ...

    I purchased both this knife holder and the "Holds Everything Flatware Organizer." Both are nicely made. My only problem with the knife holder is that my large chef's knife does not balance well in the largest knife slot. I had hoped it would rest solidly, but it sort of wobbles up and down. I'm not sure which end of the holder is not deep enough, but something doesn't quite work. Also, I had asked customer service if the two items, both in "walnut" would match and was told yes. They are close but don't really match. These are minor quibbles, but when I purchase from Williams Sonoma I expect top quality. These are good but not great.

    Organizer for a small kitchen

    The knife slots are the opposite of what was needed. It has slots for four paring knives and three chef length knives. I guess I failed to look at it fully before I ordered it. I have more longer knives: bread knife, 2 paring knives, a deli knife, a cleaver, 2 chef knives and a carving knife. I also have steel and there is clearly no place for that!
