    Summary

    The Kramer by Zwilling Euroline Damascus knife collection is a collaboration with world-famous master bladesmith Bob Kramer. Each knife is hand made to Kramer's exacting standards in the legendary cutlery center of Seki, Japan. A blade core of SG2 stainless steel is Cryodur ice-hardened for scalpel-like sharpness, then enveloped in a stunning 101-layer chevron Damascus design. The triple-riveted black linen Micarta handle features a signature Bob Kramer mosaic pin. These steak knives are ideal for slicing through cooked meat while preserving delicate juices. The set of four comes in a hardwood storage case.

    Use & Care

    Use

    • Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
    • Avoid cutting on hard surfaces, such as stone, metal and glass.
    • Use wooden or plastic cutting boards.
    • Do not use knives to cut frozen or semi-frozen food. 
    • It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone, as other blades can be easily damaged.

    Care

    • Hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent. 
    • Rinse and dry immediately.
    • Clean immediately after cutting acidic ingredients.
    • Maintain each knife's cutting edge by regularly using honing steel.
    • Sharpen as needed. With regular use and honing, knives should not need sharpening more than once or twice per year.
    • Sharpen knives at home using whetstone or knife sharpener, or have them sharpened by a professional.
    • Store knives in safe place to protect edges and prevent injury.

    Exceeds expectations

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When you spend more than you're used to, and you're not made of money, it is a good feeling to use a product and to feel like your money was well spent. The knives are far superior to what we had before (a hodge-podge of Zwilling and Wusthof knives, all pretty old). I sharpen my knives and pride myself on keeping a good edge; these came out of the box sharper than I have been sharpening my current set of knives - clearly I have to up my game! Cutting with them is different - my daughter looked at her broccoli and said "I thought it was rotten the knife cut into it so easily!". Trimming the attachment muscle off of a scallop was like cutting through hot butter. I could go on... I am glad I took the plunge. The 7 piece set is unavailable so I bought all individual pieces (and the block on ebay!) and it ended up costing less!

    Adding these knives to my table brings everything to the next level. Damascus steak knives are famous in kitchens world wide but its rare to see them as part of a table setting. The chevron damascus pattern is very unique. The styling of the handles complete with the Bob Kramer signature pin calls out its authenticity. The blades are made of high carbon steel and are super sharp, cutting through anything put in front of them.

The tables and the 'tools' should compliment all that effort. Enter these handsome Kramer Damascus steak knives. Slimmer handles fit everyone comfortably the 5-inch blade glides through tenderloin and porterhouse with equal ease. These steak knives will add to everyone's enjoyment. Really. Kramer knives aren't for everyone, I get it. However, there are some things in life that are worth the quantum step up. Personally, I think using and owning a Kramer is a special bonus in a cook's life. There is history and quality, and insightful design. Plus there is uber-quality in each knife. The core steel that chosen, the layering of different metals, the manufacturing processes that were created to achieve this level of durability and sharpness. There are craftsmen who pour their knowledge and their skills into each Kramer knife that is produced. So yes, it makes me appreciate using it so much more. When I start working with the blade itself, I appreciate it all over. Each cut is a reminder of how finely sharpened the knife is. Each stroke shows how easy it is maneuver, even the long knives. And the large handle is a comfort to a finger that is developing arthritis. These knives are very easy to keep up the maintenance. Each knife sharpens so easily it makes me think I am much more skilled that I really am. LOL

    These are the ultimate in steak knives and if you want to have not only a thing of beauty, but a set of steak knives that will be sharp and stay sharp, then these are the set you need. Beautiful chevron damascus made of SG2 powdered super steel and a special ice-hardening process, create a sharp and durable knife. It is much nicer to glide through your steak while cutting, rather than tearing it to pieces.

    These steak knives are so beautiful on my table that they elevate any piece of meat that they are cutting on my plate! They are so sharp and the handle is so comfortable that I would use them to even cut up vegetables.

    Constructed identically to other Kramer Damascus knives with stiff core and multi-multi wraps for beauty and stability. The handle is tough and long-lasting as well. Nice storage box.
