    Summary

America's oldest family-owned cookware foundry, Lodge has been making cast iron pots and pans since 1896. In 2011, the company debuted its seasoned carbon-steel line – lightweight cookware that's rugged enough to use over a campfire with all the benefits of traditional cast iron skillets. More responsive to cooking temperature changes than cast iron, carbon steel ensures fast heating. This preseasoned griddle has a naturally stick-resistant cooking surface that's ideal for sautéing, browning, frying and searing.

    • Heavy-gauge carbon steel heats up rapidly and responds quickly to changes in cooking temperature.
    • Preseasoned griddle has naturally stick-resistant cooking surface.
    • Ideal for use on indoor and outdoor cooktops, but not induction compatible.
    • Made with just iron and oil for a natural cooking surface without PFAS.

Solid, but just not for me.

This is a big pan! It couldn’t fit in my sink and frankly was just a bit too big for my stovetop (even with measuring). Make sure to account for the size of handles. The preseason also was quicker to come off than I had anticipated which was kind of a bummer. But I will say WS was super helpful and supportive with returning it, which in all honesty made me come back to purchase from WS again.

    Disappointed

Maybe they're not all this way, but this one bows in the middle, so it doesn't touch the burners evenly.

    Quality, induction-compatible griddle

Overall, it's a really high quality carbon steel griddle. Perfect size to cover 2 burners on my range. Flat bottom means it works really well on induction (despite the description saying that it's not induction-compatible). Arrived well-seasoned and ready to use. My only minor gripe is the "LODGE" and "USA 1896" raised lettering on either end, which is unnecessary and gives food a place to get stuck, making cleaning a bit more of a hassle than it needs to be.

Fine for me. Wife said not up to snuff

It was exactly what I ordered, but the wife wanted a "better" one w/ 1 insulated handle that didn't need a mitt. Gee, what a surprise......NOT.

    Love this pan!

This works great across two burners of our glass topped electric range - we can manage four smash burgers at once. The quality is excellent : pre-seasoned , thick carbon steel. I dont understand why anyone would ever use non-stick sinthetic coated pans with all the toxins they create and endocrine disruptors messing with people body chemistry as well as the environment

    Truly is Induction Compatible

We have for some time been looking for a griddle that would work on our two elements with a bridge induction cooktop. We finally found it with this Lodge griddle. It is completely flat on the bottom making complete contact with the cooktop. I recommend this product.

Best griddle I have found despite some drawbacks

I’ve used lots of stovetop griddles over the years, and none of them really ever seem to quite fill the bill—they are usually a bit too narrow and a bit too short, and the non-stick ones wear out and never really give a proper sear. While this one could be a couple inches longer and would heat more evenly if it were heavier cast iron like everything else Lodge makes, it’s the best griddle I have found. It does need lots more seasoning out of the box, but if heated slowly and used with slightly lower temperatures, this one does beat the enameled cast iron versions I have used which do heat more evenly, but are just too small to work as proper griddles over two burners. I use this griddle at least once a week. Steve K.
