    Use & Care

    Use

    • Ideal for use on any type of cooktop, including induction.
    • Oven and broiler safe to 600°F.

    Care

    • Wash pan before first use.
    • Allow pan to cool prior to cleaning.
    • Hand-wash to maintain pan's beauty. Rinse off excess food with warm water. Soak in warm soapy water, then wash with sponge or soft cloth. Use nylon scouring pad for more difficult cleaning. Rinse with warm water and dry immediately to prevent spotting.
    • Some stains and stuck-on food may take more effort to remove.
    • To remove discoloration like blue or rainbow coloring, use soft cloth or sponge to wipe pan with white vinegar.
    • To remove cloudy-white hard water spots, boil solution of 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water in pan.
    • To remove burnt food, sprinkle surface generously with baking soda, add water and bring to a boil. Use wooden spoon to loosen food particles from surface.
    • To remove tough-to-clean spots or marks like burnt fat, protein shadows and charred food, clean with non-abrasive, non-chlorine cleanser, like All-Clad cookware cleaner, Bar Keepers Friend or Bon Ami. Mix cookware cleanser and small amount of water to form paste. Use soft cloth or sponge to apply paste, rubbing in circular motion. Rinse with warm water and dry immediately. Repeat if necessary, allowing paste to soak on pan before scrubbing.
    • Avoid using oven cleaners, steel wool, steel scouring pads, harsh detergents and detergents containing chlorine bleach, which can cause damage.
    • Use nylon scrubbing pads only on stainless-steel surfaces; do not use on nonstick surfaces. Never place hot pan under cold water, as this can cause warping.
    • With the exception of preheating, empty pan should not be left on hot burner, as this can cause damage.

    The Best "Essential Pan" Imaginable

First: My All Clad pieces are so bright and beautiful that I store them on display shelves with my silver. Second: I am an elder person with limited strength. I find pieces as large as this big "saucier" to be very manageable because of their relatively shallow height, even though they hold several quarts. Third: As soon as this "Essential Pan" arrived, I washed it and filled it with six large onions (sliced), olive oil, two cans of tomato paste, two bay leaves and other seasonings, on my way to making the best marinara sauce imaginable. This is a magnificent addition to my All Clad collection -- the best pans made.

    Pitted after first use

Used it for the first time this week to make a sauce and it already pitted! I could have bought a $30 sauce pan from elsewhere and it been better quality.

    Reliable gift

Iron Clad has provided quality products through the decades and ordering gifts through Williams Sonoma has always been a reliable process.

    Disappointed and Discontinued!

Purchased the All Clad D5 Essentials 6 qt pan with lid to expand my other All Clad and other high end cookware. Needed a 14” stainless heavy skillet which is hard to find and was excited to find this on sale for $200. It is heavy and attractive and appeared well made. Unfortunately, it does not sit flat on my ceramic cooktop! The bottom is slightly convex - meaning that the center is flat on the cooktop but not the sides. It wobbles! This creates a large hotspot in the center that I thought this item was designed to avoid. I am SO disappointed. I had just discarded a 14” Calphalon skillet that had warped after many years and wanted to step up in quality. I have other All Clad items which are perfectly flat to the cooktop and expected this one to be flat as well. To add insult to injury, I called to exchange it and was told it was discontinued! I suspect that All Clad pushed out to Williams Sonoma a batch of seconds which they sold at a small discount. A slightly warped skillet will work just fine on a gas or coil electric cooktop but not on a ceramic and absolutely not on an induction cooktop which All Clad claims it is compatible with. I am returning it and am unhappy that a replacement isn’t available. The only All Clad replacement of this size is DOUBLE the price- well out of my price range.

    William Sonoma Bad Policies

The quality of this all clad piece is good but the pot is too heavy without food. William Sonoma will not accept return. I ordered on 4/30 and it was delivered on May 7th. I tried to return on May 31. I was travelimg and then had an accident so delayed in thinking about whether to return. Now, I cannot even receive a credit for purchase and am stuck. Don’t order online from William Sonoma. You will not have enough time to consider purchase and cannot return to a store or even attempt to return for credit online. Macy’s has better service.

    A pan for the generations!

Love this pan! Great shape and size for endless cooking! It is a bit larger than expected but not in a bad way.

    Bad return policy

Right after I received this pans, I realized that they were too big for me to lift and for my stove and also doesn't fit in the oven with the very long handle. I tried to return them and the website keep saying that these pans cannot be returned. They in no way said anything about final sale. So disappointed.

    Love this pan!

The best pan ever! The versatile of this pan is amazing! It can be use for anything. We had this one in the no stick version, but gave it to our son. We replaced it with the non stick version, and it is a winner!! Easy to clean and the best pan ever!!!

    Big enough for anything

I needed a pan that I could cook bulky leafy vegetables, like escarole, in without doing 2 or 3 batches. I also wanted something that I could cook a sauce in and then add pasta or a protein in the same pan. This is the pan. I may even buy a second one. I made a San Marzano sauce in this pan and after 3 hours of cooking, I added my cooked gnocchi to the pan (ravioli would work too) and it was fabulous.
