    Excellent 4 Qt Soup Pot

    I really enjoy cooking with this soup pot! Not many cookware companies sell 4 quart pots, so I appreciate that Williams Sonoma had a pot available in this size that is perfect for my needs (batch cooking 4-6 servings of soup, curry, hot pot, etc.). This is my first Thermo-Clad product and I am impressed with the quality of the construction. The tri-ply material distributes heat evenly and the thickness is enough to feel sturdy and substantial without being too heavy. The exterior mirror polish is beautiful and the handles and accents are thoughtfully designed. Because the side handles protrude out from the sides a fair amount, I find that they stay cool enough to touch even when the contents of the pot are kept at a full simmer or boil (my experience is anecdotal using an induction cooktop and obviously exercise caution in your individual situation especially if using a gas or electric stove that might heat the handles). My favorite feature is the vacuum-insulated lid which is very effective at retaining heat for more efficient cooking. Although quality multi-ply cookware is not cheap, I believe it is worth the investment and the craftsmanship and special features of Thermo-Clad cookware justifies the price.

    horrible soup pot

    I purchased this as a gift. When my mom finally used it the pot was horrible. The soup cooked unevenly and burned in places. It was a waste of money and can’t be returned. It was so hard to use and unpleasant to clean.

    Good, ALMOST great

    Surprisingly weak point around the rim. I cook with metal spoons and tongs and like most of you all, bang the metal utensils on the rim to shake off the excess sauce or oil etc. This has resulted in many small dings and dents around the perimeter of the rolled rim. LET ME BE CLEAR, this in no way affects the fit of the lid or the excellent quality or cooking ability of the pot. I was surprised though because the All Clad I have been using for years (also with rolled rim) has never shown a single dent despite my frequent careless banging of spoons and tongs

    Great but not safe

    I bought this over a year ago and not happy with it. It’s good pot for the size and quick heating, but lip / edges have become jagged and sharp. Recently, while washing it I cut my finger on two occasions. I would like to give it a higher score but safety comes first.

    Great pot! I wish WS made a steamer insert for it!

    Perfect size for pasta, veggies, smaller batches of soup.... I use this pot a lot! Heats quickly and evenly, clean up is a breeze. I just wish they made a steamer insert for this size! Preferably with a long handle for easy one handed lifting off the pot! Hint hint WS ;-)
