Blemished kettle and difficult return system

This review is for Williams Sonoma as much as for the All Clad Tea Kettle. The Kettle is a lovely design. The handle does get hot, so you need a towel or hot pad to handle. Just something to know. The whistle is lovely and the capacity excellent. It does not spit when you pour. It is all stainless steel with NO PLASTIC. I tried to exchange the kettle due to a blemish and discoloration on one side. I was unable to just generate the exchange online because it was marked as non-returnable! Crazy. So I called and was on the phone with the slow albeit nice customer service rep for an obscene amount of time. After much back and forth he said he would email me a return label so I could take to UPS and send back. When received they would send a new one. Never got the label. But what is most annoying is that the very simple common sense solution of taking it to a store and exchanging there is not an option at all. So now I am stuck with a blemished expensive kettle. Annoying. If you can just go the the store and get what you want, I recommend that over ordering online. Very inefficient system they have.

High Style, High Function

I am really pleased with this kettle. It heats water at least as quickly as my electric kettle, whistles loudly enough to hear (but not obnoxiously), pours easily. The handle does NOT get hot, not even warm (I am using a convection cooktop). If using it on a gas flame and the flame was too high (lapping the sides of the kettle) I imagine the handle could become hot. It is beautifully designed with excellent balance and pouring control, and it looks lovely sitting atop the stove when not in use.

good purchase, sturdy, squat but fast boiling.

Although it's squat and not sleek looking, the wide base is what attracted me to it. It fits on a burning on my Wolf range without the flame licking the sides of it. It also boils the water very quickly since it's such a wide base. The only negative is that I usually have to use a pot holder to prevent my fingers from burning- my old one had a handle that didn't require a pot holder.

the tea kettle is so heavy I couldn't pick it up & had to return it. I can't imagine what it would be like with water in it!!!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Very classy looking, compliments my kitchen. Handle does not get hot, cover snaps in very nice and secure. Meets the All-CLAD High Standards.we purchased the cookware a number of years ago, still looks brand new, used daily, for we are gourmet cooks at home.
