Use & Care
Use
- Ideal for use with all stovetops, including induction.
- Do not fill kettle above inner spout opening.
- Do not heat empty or allow to boil dry.
- To prevent mineral build-up, empty contents after each use.
- Maintain low/medium flame – high flame can cause discoloration and damage kettle.
- Use burner similar in circumference to size of kettle.
- Use filtered water to prevent mineral deposits.
- Securely close lid and whistle flap before boiling.
Care
- Hand-wash.
- Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads or harsh detergents.
- To keep the exterior looking new, use copper polish or combination of lemon and salt.
- Clean with simple mixture of salt (1 Tbs.) and vinegar (1/4 cup); rinse under running water or clean with wet paper towel.

This tea kettle is beautiful to look at but the whistle sounds like a fog horn.

Excellent Chantal Copper Teakettle

My first recently purchased Chantal teakettle did not whistle so I returned it for another one. This one works just as it should, plus the copper is beautiful! I also like that this teakettle has a stainless steel lining which I have not seen on any other teakettle. My previous tin lined teakettles would become pitted on the inside so I no longer felt safe to use them.

Great kettle, ugly kettle.

Great kettle, ugly kettle. Beautiful when I got it, tarnished quickly despite perfect care. Still a fairly quick boil and the whistle is loud and robust. But it’s so ugly for the pricetag now. This one’s a couple years old now. Can’t bring myself to toss it.

Terrible! Sounds like a train rolling through my kitchen. I tried returning the product and wasn’t able because I boiled water in it. Will never shop at William Sonoma again. Will also warn other people not to shop there!!!

Great looking tea kettle.

Nicely constructed and great quality tea kettle. You will not miss the whistle, it is loud which is good and instantly stops when you turn off the burner.

DO NOT BUY

I was so excited to finally receive this kettle after major shipment delays. It is quite beautiful and adds so much warmth to your kitchen. Sadly, that enjoyment was short lived. Even with all the tender care we have taken it looks like junk. So much of the coloring of the pot has disappeared. I don't know how it happens because our flames do not go beyond the base of the kettle. And when we wash it we use the soft side of the sponge. With that said, do not buy this kettle unless it is for display only :-/

Product is not as shown

Williams-Sanoma never delivered this copper tea kettle when I ordered it twice. Instead, they sent the stainless steel one and charged me the higher price of the copper kettle for the first purchase. Returning them was a nightmare. If you order this tea kettle, you won’t get it. Go to another retailer.

I have not received it. You sent me a stainless steel insert be and we’re supposed to mail out the copper so far nothing that was like 2 weeks ago😳
