Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron Reversible Grill & Griddle Pan

Excellent performance if a bit heavy

I am 80 years old and have used cast iron since I first made scrambled eggs when I was 9 years old. We have a number of cast iron pots and pans which we use many times a week. I bought this grill to use on our new induction stove which allows the use of two adjacent burners. It really is fabulous for making pancakes. I must take issue with the negative reviews. If your cast iron rusts it means that you did not bother to learn The simple maintenance these pots take. Also they are perfect with induction.

Not worth it

VERY heavy. Difficult to handle especially when hot. Is not non-stick as advertised. Used one. Probably won't use again.

I love Lodge items

I love everything Lodge. Lodge does have some better pricing if you order direct from them but I had a gift certificate. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because it says it’s a 2 burner griddle/ grill pan. I have 2 homes with 2 different makes and models of gas ranges and the pan is not large enough to fit over 2 burners. Other than that, it works well as a cooking surface.

Poor performance

I bought this pan several months ago and just began using it this past week. To say I’m not impressed would be an understatement. Pre-seasoned? Not nearly enough. Everything I cook on it sticks! Including sausage patties. I will continue to season as advised to see what happens but I would not recommend this product.

Didn’t make it past 15 months

Disappointed that after 15 months I have to toss out. I should have invested in a Le Creuset. You get what you pay for.

I first seasoned my Grill/Griddle before using it, I have other Lodge products for years so I was familiar w the process. Unfortunately, when it came time to clean it was a mess and took way too much effort and time. I will limit my use of this product. Also, it is extremely heavy.

The best reversible grill / griddle

This grill/griddle pan just happens to fit my stove perfectly. Cast iron does not warp under high heat unlike some other grill/griddle pans I've seen. This is the perfect addition to my home because of its versatility and smart design. It easily stores with my cutting boards. I love making pancakes and sausages on the griddle side. It really speeds up the pancake making process because of the surface area. For the grill side I like to cook thinner cuts of protein and vegetables and shrimp. To cook just make sure the pan is lightly oiled, I like to use a silicon brush and some olive oil or grape seed. Heat it on high for about two minutes and then lower the heat to medium low. Sometimes I only turn on one burner, depending on how much food I am cooking, it works great. To wash, let it cool completely and use some water, a drop of soap and a brush. Dry immediately and rub a small amount of oil all over with a paper towel.

Immensely Pleased

This is a great griddle. It spans over front & back burners on my ceramic top stove. Heats evenly, does not warp, pancakes do not stick. What more can you want? A grill pan too? Well, it has that as well on the other side. I have cast iron pans & am now thrilled to have a good cast iron griddle to replace an aluminum non stick one. It's also decently priced in my opinion, I've been shopping for one for a long long time.
