    Rusty waste of money

I am so disappointed in this product. Over $200 for a rust bucket. Have you ever heard of a tea kettle you need to dry 100% with no moisture in it whatsoever in between uses to prevent rampant rust? No, you say? Me neither. After 1 use, there was rust in the lid. So I completely dried out the bottom to avoid the same thing and it sat on my stovetop...where it proceeded to develop rust spots all over the bottom with nothing in it! I've never seen anything like it.

    Replacement

I lost everything in the Eaton fire. I bought this item, to replace the tea kettle that was destrlyed. I have ways wanted to own a Michael Graves tea kettle. This works very well.

Gorgeous kettle with a too-quiet whistle

The kettle is beautiful but the whistle barely sounds when water is boiling.

    Don’t Purchase!

Hard to get lid off. Have to pull off hot red bird before pouring water. Doesn’t whistle much!

    Leaks.

This is gorgeous. Made in Italy, solid as heck. It would have earned a five star except it leaks! There is one sections, an inch or two long, at the bottom, that is slightly creased. It drips water. I expected far better quality control from Alessi, and for the cost? Every item should be flawless. I recycled the packaging, and cannot return for a credit. I am very much hoping this will be made right, by either Alessi or Williams Sonoma. Very sad about this, as I have to use it; I got rid of my beat-up kettle in anticipation of this one's arrival.

    Alessi Kettle

I bought this to Replace a previous Alessi Kettle that started leaking from the bottom after 30 years of use! It’s great looking but does leak from the bird’s beak if you don’t remove it before pouring!

    Working Art!

At first it feels more like art than tea kettle, but with use you start to see it's practicality! At this point, I think it's worth every dime. Make sure you have an inch of water in the kettle, otherwise you might not hear the whistle and burn the pot.

    still gorgeous

I have owned this teapot for over 50 years. It is still perfect and gorgeous. I take the birdy out when it is boiling and pour the water before replacing birdy. It is still spectacular. The desigh is timeless...in perfect condition..I give it as wedding gift often.

    Beautiful but dangerous

I needed to get a new tea kettle and at first bought the Le Creuset large red tea kettle. The weight of the kettle once it was filled with boiling water was too heavy to safely use so I went back to my Williams Sonoma store to buy a new one. The only kettle I saw that I thought would be usable was this kettle. Lovely design. Whistles through the bird in the spout. But you must remove the bird to pour the boiling water! In addition, I have had the water burst out of the spout over the cups and onto the counter more than once. I could easily have scalded myself. This kettle is not safe to use. I bought the OXO Pick Me Up Kettle which is plain but safe!
