America's oldest family-owned cookware foundry, Lodge has been forging classic cast iron pots and pans since 1896. This two-in-one piece offers a spacious griddle on one side for cooking up big helpings of eggs and pancakes, and a grill on the opposite side for cooking fish, poultry and hamburgers. Preseasoned and ready to use, the heavyweight cast iron provides exceptionally even heating, so foods sear and brown beautifully.

    Durable cast iron griddle

We purchased this durable product 7 years ago. it fits nicely atop a Jennaire grill. The flat side is perfect for sandwiches and any grilled protein or vegetable. The grill side is super for steaks.

    Pancakes Were A Fail!

Very disappointed. Even with butter melted on skillet the pancakes stuck to the pan.

Not a useful design, particularly for induction.

This pan is trying to do too much and doesn’t do any of it well. The grill side doesn’t engage the magnets on my induction stove because of the sides on the griddle side. When using the griddle side, the handles are poorly placed and limit the contact with the burners.

    Cast iron

Wanted cast iron. Because of that it's perfect, but now after using it I would prefer a non-stick surface with higher sides, at least one inch.

    Good Quality, But...

I generally like cast iron and particularly Lodge, but it simply doesn't heat evenly, it's too narrow, and the ridged side is hard to clean and season.

    I wish it were aluminum

Cast iron is great, don't get me wrong: durable, predictable, easy to care for – but it just doesn't conduct heat as well, or as evenly, as aluminum. Granted, part of the issue is that my range has different-size burners front to back, but with a heavy, non-stick coated aluminum griddle I was able to balance the heat and get a uniform temperature across the entire cooking surface. With this griddle I am unable to do that, resulting in cooler areas in the middle of the griddle, between the burners. It's not super critical for some applications, but it does make a difference for my Sunday-morning pancakes.

    Great Griddle

I've been 'researching' double-burner griddle/grills for several months and finally decided on this Lodge model. I am happy I did! The surface- level handles sealed the deal -- it stores flat and no accidental burns to my wrists. Once you have it properly heated, it's perfect for pancakes, eggs, bacon, grilled fish, etc... It fits nicely on my gas stove-top, and the 'gutter' catches the grease so my food isn't sitting in fat. I'm used to cast-iron, so seasoning and clean-up has not been an issue for me.

    this griddle is just ok

I am not loving this griddle. I find the working surface to be too narrow--I couldn't get 2 pieces of french toast next to each other. I actually struggled to get 4 pieces on the griddle. I was using a slightly bigger loaf of bread from the breadsmith, but it wasn't that big! However, my biggest complaint is that it doesn't dissipate heat very well. I am preheating the griddle for quite a while on medium-low heat. The pancakes over the burner are often too brown, while those in between the burners are just right.

    Works on Bosch Induction

All of my cast iron is Lodge and just like my skillet and Dutch oven, this griddle works great on my induction stove. I have a Bosch induction cooktop that has 5 cooking areas: one large circle in the middle and two on each side. The side areas can handle two separate pans or combine to create one longer cooking area for a long griddle like this. I've cooked pancakes, French toast, various meats, etc with no issues. Just treat it like any cast iron, use a thin coat of oil before cook and no soap when cleaning.
